Heh, how could I leave these two out? The Genny was obviously defined in the '90's, but the 80's is when it was born. Great times.

Wendel Clark - second in rookie of the year voting in 1985.

George Bell - 1987 AL MVP

The Hart Foundation - the greatest tag team of all time.

Arsenal's 2-0 win in Liverpool in 1989 on a last minute goal by Michael Thomas, winning the league championship by the narrowest of margins over their beaten foe. That was the last soccer game I watched before I moved to Canada, and it's still the most memorable.

Senna vs Prost - one of the greatest sporting rivalries of all time.

1988. 9.79. Still the single most incredible performance I've ever seen, roids be damned.

Diego Maradonna - the best soccer player I've ever seen. And the scorer of the greatest goal ever against my home country at Mexico '86. Still in awe whenever I see it.

Three legendary, state of the art exotics from the 80's...the Diablo, 959 and F40. I still don't like the way the 959 looks, but it's tough to knock it's performance.

Which reminds me...with the TV shows I posted previously, how the hell could I forget this one...

And I've left the best till last (or until I remember some more 80's goodness). The Group B Rally era alone means that the 80's takes a large dump on every decade that ever has or ever will be. They're still some of the most technologically advanced, fastest, meanest street legal monsters ever produced, the likes of which we'll never see again.

In short, other decades might beat the 80's for advancements or general quality, but no decade can compare for total coolness.

ok not THE best, but one of the best.

You know, I went over to one of my friends' about a month ago to have a few drinks, and she asked me if I'd seen this and I hadn't, and she showed it to me. Man, what an awesome movie. I can't believe I had missed out on it all this time.
