Deals and webhosting don't really go well together in the same sentence.
General rule of thumb with webhosting is that if it sounds too good to be true, the host probably sucks ass.
For my site, it's split over two hosts:
www.hostgator.com handles the core parts of the site, and is a little more expensive than I'd like, but rock-solid with great support
The other server which holds all the media is hosted through my co-worker who runs a web design company and is giving me a deal. (but it's less reliable)

If they say unlimited bandwidth, run. run as fast as you can. phpwebhosting, i used to rave about them, but when my site started getting traffic, their "unlimited bandwidth" quickly turned into VERY LIMITED BANDWIDTH, and they shut me down without prior notice. I still hate them to this day for that. And they still won't respond to my e-mails so that I can obtain some files they've denied me access to.
www.dreamhost.com and www.surpasshosting.com are both supposed to be good
