Best X-Box DS2 Adapter?

AstroLad

Hail to the KING baby
Need to grab one for the upcoming WE8 release. This one is the only one I could track down-

but supposedly it's a tad unresponsive.

Anyone used it or a better one?

Truthfully, depending on what you're hooking up to it, the ideal adaptor can vary.

If DCB didn't seem to be banned, he would have no doubt mentioned the Magic Box (which that might be a picture of?), so I'm doing it for him. Remind him that I'm down.

I've used the X Joybox. Works really well, although the R1 and R2 buttons on the PS2 pad are unresponsive when used on the X-Box. Connecting a PSOne Dualshock controller should remedy the problem.

This is MagicBox:

It's a little more expensive ($20) since it has Saturn & DC plug-ins, but the user reviews for the Joybox (the other one) trouble me a little:

DO NOT BUY THIS FOR FIGHTING GAMES

Bought it to be able to play Streetfighter 3rd Strike on XBOX LIVE. Noticed the huge response delays as early as when entering time/date when booting the XBOX. Special move motions and combos registrations were not fast enough for reaction timing. When playing online, with good connection statement even, not even a fireball or dragon punch would come out. I'm yet to try this out with Pro Evolution Soccer 4 next week. Though I feel quick response in football games is also a necessity.

Then again I've got a DS2 adapter on my computer from that company, and it works great, but maybe the X-Box adapter isn't as well-designed or something.

Anybody who snagged SF:AC XBOX already is probably dedicated enough to hook up an arcade stick which may not use a 1st party PCB which may be a large reason why they had lag.

This is why I said it matters what you are hooking up to it. It you stick with straight Dual Shocks or 2's, I wouldn't expect much trouble, if any, from any adaptor.

Oh yes, should have mentioned, straight DS2's, but I need precision and responsiveness from all the shoulder buttons and both analogs.

Try or research adaptors by Innovation and Pelican. I've used both of those before, though the Innovation was older and would phantomly press "Right" every coupla minutes.

I use the MagicBox adapter mostly because it has the Saturn adapter, it's great for fighters and Metal Slug, The PS2 part seems to work great, the only problem it has is that it's only pin'd to the 4 face buttons and the stick(Trigger aren't pin'd!) for the Dreamcast part. :(

Like the user above say's the older Inovation adapter has issues ghosting imputs sometimes, soo I don't use it that often.

Really, they don't map the DC triggers at all? That's foolish.

His tag said banned during that whole Willco is a mod deal, and the Bishop bans GTA hatin' fools bits, so it could have been a joke, mistake, or short term.

Though if he was still active, would he be posting right now?

Edit: He hasn't posted in 2 days, and is still listed as banned.

Oops. Meant to say L2 and R2. Haven't tried any 3rd party PS2 controllers on the X Joybox (cept for the Cordless Action. Which didn't work).
