Which totally unexpected announcement are you most looking forward to?

I didn't like this conference.

Only thing that caught my attention was Prey but how about showing some real gameplay?

EA's conference was a lot better than this one and that's saying much lol

Worst E3 conference I've ever watched.

CG trailers, DLC announcements and a remaster PC players had 5 years ago.

Where was The Evil Within 2...

Hey, but you also get a Doom demo and Fallout Shelter will be coming to pc, don't you like it?

So about that Battlecry then?

The studio popped up at the end so they're still alive god knows what they're doing though these days.

I'd give this about a 6/10, it was solid enough but the things they focused on largely didn't interest me (MMO, card game etc) and the stuff I did like needed more (Quake, Prey)

Also no Wolfenstein and no TEW is very disappointing after all the rumours

PS: that fucking screaming woman >_<

My thoughts on the conference.

Pete didn't seem as up beat as last year. Last year he had an attitude of a guy that was kicking ass and taking names. He seemed very subdued this year, not sure why.

Also I wasn't blown away by Dishonored. I honestly thought it looked pretty boring. The first combat sequence where she turned off the door security was a poor showing, especially when she grabbed the dude to throw him off the edge and just lumped his rag doll ass into a wall.

Quake kicked ass, the new DOOM content kicked ass, the Fallout 4 stuff looks great. Who knows about Prey, we probably won't see that until 2018.

I just realized something, right after they showed the name for Quake Champions and it cut back to someone coming on stage, the music was the Doom 3 theme song. Fucking love that song.

I was originally planning to watch this last night, but my nap lasted a bit longer than anticipated, so I'm just finishing it now.

Overall, I think it was decent. A lot of post-release support for recent releases / ongoing support for their online / mobile titles. Skyrim remaster is nice, but not a huge deal coming off the PC version of the basic game. It's great to see them embracing more of their older properties with Quake Champions and Prey after the success of DOOM. The big thing was obviously Dishonored 2, which essentially looks like a sequel to Dishonored (which is by no means a bad thing).

Definitely much better than EA, simply because they actually showed gameplay (or heck, even trailers) and gave more in-depth information on some of their titles. Also, even if their presentations this and last year have been a bit light on content, they do display a great level of love and respect for the medium and their games.

In a way, their conferences feel a bit more like dev watercoolers.

This might piss people off but the PC mods as DLC shit really needs to stop. Build your own vault for just £5.99 (probably). No. just No. What happened to the good old days were we'd get 5 pieces of story DLC like in F3. Then we have shit like build elevators (mod already exists), Armor and weapon racks (mod already exists) and a weird conveyor belt for some reason. The season pass costs £40 and it looks like we're only getting 2 story DLCs and that is BS. /Rant

I really like the way Bethesda do their show. Good mix of stage and video, couple of cool announcements and a lot of time for their biggest game of the year. Not a spectacular conference but the way they deliver the information is great. Much better than that EA shit.

All in all, it was a decent showing for a rising publisher that still probably doesn't have quite enough product to justify a yearly showcase.

Look forward to watching Bethesda flesh out their show with more offerings in the coming years. I appreciate that their conferences are detail heavy and fairly light on buzzwords.

You mean the games with only cg trailers to represent them? I just can't get excited for any reveal or showing with them. Usually means shit is early in development.

Surprised by the meh reaction to Dishonored here though, first one was fantastic and can't wait to return to that universe.

Well I mean I kind of felt the same way about Dishonored 2 last year and Prey and Quake Champions this year. Just the tease at something interesting coming is enough to get me slightly excited. Though yeah need to see more of them before I'm sold.

I agree, I thought Dishonored was great. Dishonored 2 looks like everything I want from a sequel to that game.

Quake Champions: Besides being a bad CG trailer, this also sounds like z-tier F2P game.

Hearthstone: Still looks like Hearthstone.

Fallout 4 DLC: The minecraft stuff looks great, hope this gets built into the next Elder Scrolls, would love to really build a fully functioning town with aqueducts and stuff! The theme park is a cool setting.

Fallout Shelter: This was such a good little game and the additions seem to really build on the scope. Really really neat!

Skyrim Remastered: It kinda seems superfluous given all the modding and stuff available on the PC version already, but I guess it's good for console-only gamers who want the PC experience and don't mind buying the game twice.

Prey: For a CG-only trailer or whatever this looked ok. The premise seems closer to Prey 2.1 than to Prey 1, but not really the same as either. Not sure how they'll transition from Pleasantville to time looping insanity to on-the-run-for-your-life. Grey goo enemies are so boring.

Doom: Again as with last year I'm glad that people can make maps on consoles, I feel like a map creator that's more limited than Doom 1's original WAD creators is a bit of a regression. The multiplayer updates do not seem super interesting and I haven't heard anyone who cares about the multiplayer mode tbqh.

The Elder Scrolls Online: I mean, I guess this looks good but I really have no sense as to what content is currently in the game and what isn't. Dark Brotherhood quests are normally pretty good in ES games. It looked very MMOy, which is the point. I find it kinda hard to believe that 10 years from now people will look back on TESO and remember it as fondly as they do Morrowind.

Bethesda VR: I commented on this the other day, but Bethesda bought the company of one of the world's foremost tech programmers, didn't use his tech, then lost him acrimoniously because they wouldn't let him work on VR, then decided to get into VR, but won't release on the world's #1 VR platform because they're suing it. Like, come on.

Dishonored 2: Visually looks very sharp, hard to get a read on if gameplay is incremental or something more. The lighting is really quite spectacular.

This was a bad conference. I don't really know why they had one at all. They announced an F2P game, gave a CG trailer for Prey, and then announced some incremental updates to released games. It's OK to have a conference on years where you have mega announcements and then not have one other years. Totally unnecessary to have an actual conference. 1/10.
