Wasn't Hivebusters DLC or was it sold as a standalone game too?
If it's just DLC what's it doing there 😄

Xbox one, no doubt.

X360 crush both with ease.

Mass Effect and Bioshock were amazing but I'm not sure how better 360 would fare on the first party list above. Xbox One would have them beat I think.

I think you have missed flight simulator & deathloop, regardless of being late ports they are actually first party.

But if third party exclusives do not count (noticed you didn't put Titanfall, Crimson, lococycle Dragon & DR3) doesn't that mean you shouldn't be counting sunset overdrive, Ori and the blind forest, ryse son of Rome & as dusk falls?

OP you broke your own rules!

Anyway I voted series X, as halo infinite, Forza horizon 5 & psychonauts 2 have been some of my fave games ever on the platform.

Also I really really want a new killer instinct that comes close to the quality of street fighter 6 now :(

You missed Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Also, most (if not all) of the games you listed are playable on Xbox One.

So, yeah, this gen is a joke.
The ones that are bolded are crossgen.

Titanfall was published by EA. The games above are all first party. MS published. Good call on Dead Rising 3.

Xbox One and it’s not even a contest. 2 years in and we can’t even see when this gen will start properly without the shackles of lastgen, if ever. PS5 is the same, but at least it has 1 proper nextgen game (Ratchet and Clank).

OP says "no third party exclusives" :p
Plus ori & the blind forest is on the switch, I double dipped on that game, loved it :)

Even if published by Microsoft, they are still third party devs right? :p

They are classified as first party if they are published by MS. Some people call this second party but technically the term doesn't exist.

If the studio was important no game would be first party because even with the likes of Halo Infinite and Killer Instinct other third party studios developed it.

Forza Horizon 2 on Xbox 360 was a different game than what we got on Xbox One. It's not cross-gen as we understand it now.
Never played the 360 version so never knew this, how did it differ?

Good point!
Then again killer instinct was done by third party devs too.
Loved that game, huge shame we still don't have a new title, but I'm hoping with stuff like sf6 raising the bar, if it ever returns, I hope they will be influenced :)

I wouldn't even complain if they released the next game on playstation either, if it got the game more presence in the fgc & it means my friends on others platforms can experience it too :)

360 version was developed on older engine used for the first game. The biggest difference is the map. A lot of areas were cut / downsized. Most of the country side is not accessible, I think that 360 version don't even haver cross-country events. Graphically it's also a completly different game, not a simple "one or two presets down" that we have today.

How is this even a question?

When it comes to launch line ups, the OG xbox had a better line up than xboxs 4th console.

In a room of ex xbox heads, Phil Spencer would be laughed out of it for the embarrassing line up.

When Don "watch how badly I can fuck xbox up" Mattrick puts out a better line up than you, it's time to leave.

Op you missed out dead rising from the xbox one list and NFL live tv games (lol)

I guess gamepass > everything else.

Just following the same criteria as the other thread for consistency, so that's why Flight Sim and Deathloop aren't counted but I think it's fair those are big games for Series X still. Xbox One also had some good ones in retrospect if he we include third party like Titanfall and Tomb Raider

Sunset, Ori, Ryse and Dusk Falls are all MS published so have counted as first party publishing.

XB1 by a country mile. The comparison between games got me in my feelings too. In my opinion, games like Ryse, Ori, & Sunset when compared to Grounded and Pentiment shows a staggering drop in quality.

Truly sad shit.

I get the rules this is setting, but in reality we get consoles to play all sorts of games. I can see that list and say One had better exclusives. But in actuality, I didn't play them. Killer instinct and horizon, a car game,I would have never given a shot at full price. But now due to gp, I found I Love horizon 5 , even tho I'm no car guy. with gp I actually get to play all those, were with the One I had to be picky and basically only had Halo

Furthermore, all the other 200+ games in the service means more games to play than on the One

Edit: I also found I liked Ori by trying it on my series x due to gp, but not originally when it came out on the One

Considering zero games of note came out this year...I would pick Xbox One (Grounded was early access for two years), As Dusk Falls is an indie really. All of the others was last year.......and Pentiment isn't out.

Nothing resembling AAA has come out by a MS studio this year.

How does that even happen Phil?

This gen. Psychonauts 2 is one of my favourite games ever. Grounded is top3 games this year. Hivebusters might be short but it is just about the most fun and best paced Gears campaign ever. HI is way better than 5. FH5 is the best FH. And I really hope Pentiment is going to blow me away. Oh, and As Dusk Falls was super fun playing with a friend.

I didn't own an Xbox one since I didn't have an Xbox console last gen and I find myself playing mostly Xbox one and good old 360 games that i loved back in the day through the amazing BC.so yeah Xbox one for sure between the two...no contest.

If i were making the list i probably wouldn’t have included Hivebusters as its DLC, the same way I didn’t include Ghost of Tsushima DLC expansion or Death Strandings

True. And it's a good thing Sony delayed God of War, Gran Turismo and Horizon to this year, instead of the original 2021 releases. 2022 would look BAAAD for them. They probably should have moved one of them to 2023 alongside Spider-Man 2.
