Big Brother 11 (US)

If there had been a single heterosexual MAN on Season 8 that wasn't a pussy then they would have flown right into Jens landing zone almost nightly. The abuse she got on that show pretty much meant anyone that was willing to be her white night was going to get some.

What a shame it is. The Jessica and Erics evictions were some of the most dramatic moments on television for me. I could almost choke on my rage when Eric got the boot.

I'm really looking forward to BB this year since I didn't get to watch ANY of last season. I was working out of town and the guys I was living with wouldn't watch it.

Ugh, anyone know where I can download the show? As usual none of the major torrent sites/newsgroups seem to be bothering with it. Of course, there's a shit load of our shitty, British version of BB.

It doesn't start until July 9th in the US.

I miss Evil Dick!!!

Shit, I miss both Donatos.

Dick was hi-larious and was a treat to root for. Danielle was rocking competitions and always had me LOLing with how soooooooo frussssssstrated she was (she was stone cold cute, too).

That was a fun season. From America fucking over Dustin to the magic ping pong ball from Jesus to the pots and pans. It was non-stop fun...and America's favorites won, which was cool to see.

This may not be new to everyone, but it was new to me when I read it today:

Part of the whole clique twist is that each group has its own former houseguest representative, with the former houseguest acting as the first HOH. I couldn't gather whether this was merely a one-time thing or if these reps would be there throughout the duration of this clique twist, though.

Anyway, it's Thursday. Get ready.

So excited, but I probably won't be watching live. Summer shows + night = not good for me. :lol

I don't even want to think about how many hours I've spent staring at the BB feeds overnight, over the years. Class in the morning? Fine, 30 more minutes of BB. *Three hours later*...oh that Howie, what'll he say next.

To BB's credit, it really is remarkable how entertaining the live feeds are. That's what makes this game so awesome - it's literally a 24/7 competition. So not only is there ALWAYS some sort of gameplay going on, but then you have a bunch of crazy folks essentially at summer camp - showing out and having fun. It's great.

It's easy to get sucked in once you spend half an hour or so watching.

Hmm, I watched the Showtime after dark thing last season I think, and it was easily the dullest shit I'd ever seen. Basically they sat around talking about totally mundane shit the whole time. The way they advertise it is like all sorts of crazy shit will happen and then it's just "I like Froot Loops" "I prefer Cheerios." "Huh." Fucking lame.

I'd give it another shot. Last season was a piss-poor representative of BB on all fronts. The feeds, the gameplay, it was uncharacteristically dull.

The nature of the show and the game often make it hit-or-miss. When it's good (most recently BB8, BB7, BB6, BB2) it's awesome, and when it's bad (BB4, BB10) it's pretty much unbearable.

There have been more good moments than bad, so it's worth tuning in again.

Well, thanks to blabmouth Allison (exec producer) and a bunch of previous houseguests' facebook/myspace updates, pretty much the first two episodes have been spoiled already.

I'm pissed I read it all, but if anyone else cares:

The cliques
Athletes: Jeff, Natalie, Russell
Brains: Chima, Michele, Ronnie
Offbeats: Casey, Kevin, Lydia
Populars: Braden, Jordan, Laura

Four previous houseguests did compete in the HoH comp.
Jessie (BB10)
won and I almost don't want to watch this season now.

The only good news I've read is that Jordan officially is the "new" Jessica and everyone will like her.

Edit:

Oh, and I did end up signing up for Showtime yesterday. Ugh...

The BB10 cast specifically wouldn't do anything crazy while After Dark was on. They were under the assumption it would be easier for their family to see shit (as opposed to watching the live feeds all day and night). Hell, a lot of days they even had countdowns until midnight.

I think BB9's pool orgy put an end to anything super exciting ever happening on the show again.

Yeah, I read that, and I was like... Ugh. But I'm glad that that houseguest is back. Was one of the more entertaining ones that I enjoyed (in terms of freakouts).

What sucks is that since s/he is in the HoH group, s/he won't be able to get booted in the first week. I was hoping the returning houseguest would just be easy voting fodder to get the game rolling.

S/he will cause some good drama though because I doubt even his/her clique will really gel with him/her.

TV Guide is reporting Braden has already been found fully nekkid in a "gay soap opera" called Dante's Cove.

Other things of note:

Michele is going to call out anyone who brings up God's involvement in Big Brother. I looooooooove religious drama!

Laura claims she's going to wear bikinis all the time.

Kevin's story about getting ostracized by his family is sad every time I read it.

Jeff got picked up because he went to an audition with his ex-girlfriend who is an insane BB fanatic. Due to the way the show works, she didn't know he was selected until a week ago. That's funny.

I still haven't read one thing that shows how Chima fits into the
nerd
clique.

Can't put my finger on it, but there's something I like about Ronnie.

Edit: WTF @ the yellow black girl? She didn't even look like a real person in that previous shot.

I wanna bang Michele. So nerdy but sexy, oh la la.

Michele is going to call out anyone who brings up God's involvement in Big Brother. I looooooooove religious drama!
Why? Is she secular?

Why? Is she secular?

I don't know her exact reason but all the BB forums I've been too agree, it's fucking annoying when there are players crying that God seems to be helping the bad people but he will come through and they're just going to pray and yada yada yada.

Because God cares if you do well in a human chess match aired on tv in your attempt to be famous.

I fucking HATE Dish Network.

I hate that I'm forced to have it. It's DVR system is SHIT and it decided not to record Big Brother even though it was set to record because it sucks.

I did see the last few minutes. Nothing made sense, obviously.

::enraged::

I like the assumption that because the Athletes have 4 members they are gonna be "harder to vote out". These people do realize that you don't have to vote exclusively with your clique and that cliques could team up against another right? The other 3 cliques in the house outnumber the Athletes if they join forces.

Anyway, I agree, the clique thing is stupid.

Good stuff, looks like a pretty fun cast this time around. Hopefully they'll prove me right.

I went ahead and signed up for the feeds before they go live later tonight. You can get a 14-day free trial if you subscribe for the monthly SuperPass through Real.com (instead of just paying for the season right away). That may be a good option for those of you who have never subscribed before.

holy fuck, ronnie is my old co-worker from a job i left about a month ago. we used to play on XBL together. he's a huge star wars nerd, i bought the dude Star Wars Kubricks when i was in japan last time... fucking weird. :lol

I can't believe we were a couple minutes away from getting to look at Jessica for another three months. FUUUUUUUCKKKK YOOOOU JOCKS!

Yeah, I loved Jess...

Are her and Eric still together?

People in the clique can't be nominated. Four people playing "together" in a competition is greater than three. They will have a 1/3 chance of winning, two groups will have 1/4, and the remaining one will be 1/6.

After watching the episode, I still really hate the clique thing. At least it doesn't seem to be "that" big of deal, although I'm sure a couple people will figure out how to exploit it. I don't like that it automatically gives the jocks/populars someone to target, but who knows...

The cast is great. It would have been a great season even without a twist. So far I think all my initial impressions have been spot on. I can't decide if Kevin or Casey will be the first to crack.

I don't stalk her or anything, so the last I've seen of them is when they were guest hosts in BB9 (or was it 10) and they were still together. I have no clue about now.

I've been talking about this with people who watched it with me.... what is it that Ronnie actually does for a living? And is he as smart as he seems to think he is?

CBS had him labeled as a professional video gamer which is just stupid because I think he just plays WoW a lot.

Edit:
Maybe he's a gold farmer. :lol

he just gave up playing WoW whenever he started working with me. he didn't play games professionally, it's just an exaggeration.

i can't say exactly what he did at my workplace, sorry. but i think he moved to work at a broadcasting company somewhere outside of cleveland? he is a really intelligent, bright and funny guy. him and his wife are two of the nicest people i've ever met.

The live feeds are on. RealPlayer is pretty nice this year, they've made some improvements. You can see small thumbnails of all four feeds without going into the Quad Cam mode.

Looks like
Chima and Lydia
are nominated. They just showed the big wall of keys and their keys are the only two that are missing.

Could've saved the entire season if Jessica had won HoH. *shakes my head*

Too much immaturity this season...
10 young,naive brats and 1 40 year old who still thinks he's a kid.

Damn it,
Lydia
is one of my early favorites :(

Jesse is one of the top douches in the history of humankind, so that's a minus.

The tits girl in her intro scene made me want to take a harpoon gun to her face.

On the upside, the Chicago dude is hot as fuck, the gay guy is potentially charming, and the cast seems mostly decent this year...

This show will likely be one of the last to make the move to HD. I wonder how many cameras they have in the house, it must be over 30. That's a huge expense for one show I'd imagine.

57 sounds familiar, but I could just be making that up.

I'm 45 minutes behind on After Dark, but it's pretty fucking boring so far. It's exactly like high school though. The populars and jocks are hanging out, Ronnie comes in, they all look around like they weren't just talking for two hours and leave the room without acknowledging him.

Oh wait there are nighties on tv now, bye.

This is actually pretty fucking hilarious. Lydia and Jordan have become the "screen time" sluts and Laura is jealous as all fuck. That was her gameplan coming in, but they beat her to it. So now she's just sitting around talking about how big of sluts they are and they better not be doing this kind of shit after 9pm every night.

The two douchebag guys (Braden and Jeff) are being disgustingly blatant about wanting to hookup. They sound like 15 year old boys when they talk to the girls.

They were all just in the backyard doing a fashion show / tittybar routine while Casey did the announcing. It was easily the funniest part of the first night of feeds.

It was mostly just prancing around and laughing, but the best part was when it was Michelle's turn. She went all out - took down the pants, pulled off the shirt, really went at it. Everyone went nuts while she was up.

Stop arousing me while I'm at work.

I don't know what I think after semi-fast forward watching After Dark last night. These dumbasses are playing WAY too hard and too fast.

I bet they'll be segregated into two groups within a week with a couple floaters. Lydia's "I'm going to act like I'm going to fuck everybody so I don't ever get voted out" thing was sad and funny.

Edit: Here's the clip Toy was talking about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8D3GbQIjkq4. Looks like it starts around the 4:00 mark.

Edit 2: Goddamnit it cut off before Michele's part. Booooooo.

Edit 3: Ah, here's the second part, yippie! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaPjDGaCWZ8
