Big N64 MiSTer FPGA Milestone; a feature complete core

Now let me define feature complete lol : all features of a real Nintendo 64 console in hardware have been implemented in FPGA. CPU/RSP/RDP/all the associated calls and hardware functions like TLB memory addressing, Level of Detail, YUV support, controller paks, transfer paks, etc etc etc.

Yes there is still bug fixing on games to be done but every component of what makes a N64 A N64 are now coded into the FPGA core and that was all done in under a year. People considered Nintendo 64 on MiSTer FPGA to be impossible but now its in the home stretch. Granted bug fixing can and probably will take another 6 months but the fact that this has happened in the first place is a wild accomplishment and one that truly deserves some fun praise!

Especially considering that for the time the N64 architecture was unique and pretty complicated in its own fight and had hardware features most devs had never come across before. Even more so when certain hardware functions were a) overly complicated and b) only utilized by in some instances a small handful of games.

There's never been a better time to be a N64 fan though thats for sure. Who here on GAF has been playing on MiSTer lately? if you haven't added the newest test core yet now is the time to do so!

Robert has done amazing work. Been having a great time with this core for the past couple of months.

I still laugh at those "Experts" who continued to tell anyone who brought up an N64 core that it wasn't possible and for them to stop asking. LMAO, gotta love that egg on face.
