Bill Frist's cracked open the launch codes and is now trying to convince the Senate to "turn the key" and turn Capital Hill into a smoking partisan crater.

Frist Set to Use Religious Stage on Judicial Issue

He'll be appearing with radical mullah and SpongeBob-persecuter Charles Dobson, who compares Supreme Court justices with the KKK:

DOBSON: I heard a minister the other day talking about the great injustice and evil of the men in white robes, the Ku Klux Klan, that roamed the country in the South, and they did great wrong to civil rights and to morality. And now we have black-robed men, and that's what you're talking about.

Also appearing with fundamentalist figure and convicted Watergate felon Chuck Colson, and breakaway radical cleric Dr. Al Mohler of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Together they'll be championing "Justice Sunday", and portraying Democrats as against people of faith in an attempt to ensure that Bill Frist will be able to lock down the cracker belt vote in the 2008 primaries.

Snarkiness aside, this is INSANE. If you thought that GWB's Schavio pandering was because of payback for 2004, just wait until you see the bill that the religious right is going to present to the Whitehouse if Bill Frist runs and wins in 2008 because of their activism. We will be on the way to living in Randall Terry's America, where:

"When I, or people like me, are running the country, you'd better flee, because we will find you, we will try you, and we'll execute you. I mean every word of it." He added, "I will make it part of my mission to see to it that they are tried and executed." "

"I want you to just let a wave of intolerance wash over you... I want you to let a wave of hatred wash over you. Yes, hate is good... Our goal is a Christian nation. We have a biblical duty, we are called by God, to conquer this country. We don't want equal time. We don't want pluralism."

One thing I always wondered about these guys is, How can Sponge be gay. He's a sponge. And what if spongebob and patrick hold hands, if I held hands with Jesus would I be gay?

Edit:

My biggest problem with big guys like that is that they aren't even christian. A real christian would never wish for a wave of hate on someone. Christianity is about love for your fellow man. When did it change?

excellent, the further the pendulum swings to the right the further it will come back to the left, it all cyclical.

As a black person, I'm absolutely offended by the attempt to connect their dreams of theocracy with battle over civil rights. They've gone way over the line this time.

To whom is he referring? Non-Christians? Jesus...talk about misguided.

That's a repugnant sentiment; I can't believe that there are people who would sit around and take that in without protesting it.

The classic Marxian dialectic, even in an information-laden society with (right now) decent free speech mechanisms, does not necessarily move in a quick manner. It's natural to think that the pendulum will swing back, but at the same time all it takes is one proverbial bigass culture magent to keep the pendulum moving in the desired direction against the grain of the rest of society.

At least cat killer Bill Frist's premptive strike on the 2008 Republican primaries will make for some kickass C-SPAN2. That's about the extent of it's virtues-everything else is completely detrimental to a democratic society.

You do understand, of course, the possibility that it simply won't and America will end up being another Iran or 1930s Germany.

Good post. In fact, I was just going to post it myself. :lol

It's stupid of him to compare the courts to the KKK on so many levels.

Pretty big crossover between southern racist redneck idiot KKK members/sympathizers and southern redneck idiot bible humpers.

How many KKK members are there around anyways? The social conservatives have found other things to obsess on.

they don't need the KKK anymore, they have found better ways of maintaining power that are systemic, pervasive, and acceptable by a large portion of society.
