but this is a good thing. A very good thing.
not to be a gloomy asshole here, but there's a few problems with this technology.
1) Will they have to target every SINGLE cancer cell in a body for this to work? That could take months for a single person.
2) How long til this becomes weaponized? I can't imagine engineers at the pentagon wanting to let something like this go. Drop something like this into the water supply, come back three days later, fire a near-infra red laser beam like a search light and burn up the insides of anyone in your path.
Does anyone really trust todays governments to responsibly use this stuff?

Tech like this is baby steps, but we're slowly getting to the point where we can ditch this whole single-consciousness fad. I saw this on MSNBC a few days ago and was glad about the immediate impacts though-anyone who has had a loved one go through chemo knows that there HAS to be a better way to fight cancer than that.

Presumably, nanotech advances will lead to programmable nanoprobes, which the Borg use to "reproduce".
