What the title says.

With so many remasters and so many threads about them, people who are actually looking forward to them and want to talk with other people about them, always get pissed off by seeing those useless complaints.

I think that's ruining the mood of the thread for the sake of it.

Those who complain are claerly missing some important things:

-If they are worried about the lack of more new games, even without remasters, we wouldnt get more of them, since remasters (most of them) are made by teams specifically dedicated to it.

-The easy money they make helps to main dev studios make better games, or actually make them able to complete them.

-Basically, it helps the industry going on.

-Remasters may be a cashgrab, as it is the whole business: make a product and take our money. BUT NOONE IS STEALING ANYTHING. Dont buy if you dont want to play those games. It's better to have plenty than lacking of.

There's absolutely no poing in complainint, except pissing off people.
If port begging is bannable, I dont see why this is not.

So, my answer is obviously yes.

It's a valid thing to complain about. People are entitled to have an opinion. I don't have a problem with remasters in general, but some people do. I don't see why that bothers you.

Seriously though: No, it shouldn't be bannable. If they have a valid point, they should be able to discuss it.

No. People have opinions and that is their own on Remasters. Regardless of whether you like them or not, they should have the freedom to say that they don't like them. It would be nice if they stated why, but not even that is necessary.

I'm not sure if a thread like this is allowed, but assuming it is: hahahahaha no.

First of all, if it's derailing an OT or something, sure. But if it's in an announcement thread, it's still a worthwhile point of discussion. Why? Have you considered that the fact that companies are so very happy to sell us the same thing again might mean that, at least to some extent, they feel happy to not change their future games up to much?

It sets a precedent for the industry to accept a lack of change and helps crowd out new IPs from development and sales.

Edit: It's worth noting, while I believe the above, I still want SOME remasters to happen. It's just the amount pouring out right now is kind of bonkers and I feel it's really damaging the industry.

Can't say I'd mind, it's pretty much just like port begging in that it adds nothing to unrelated discussions and is a binary opinion pretty much entirely unworth discussion at this point. Every thread it comes up in has the same "make new games" "but remasters don't prevent new games" "well actually I don't care about that I just hate things and like to say that aloud" etc

Maybe make a Remaster Hate |OT| and everyone can say the exact same "make new games" post every time a remaster is made in there. The only thread on earth where everyone is in agreement

No. Ban individual users if they overdo it and start flaming, but not being fond of playing the same games you already played last gen is a valid opinion.

Most of the whining about it I'd say falls under shitposting which is more or less bannable I'd say. Yeah, it might be your opinion that a remaster is stopping them from making a game you like but your opinion is fucking stupid in that case and not based on reality. Almost all of the complaints about them seem to be by people who have like no clue what they are talking about.
