Black Stone: Magic and Steel

is beloved, despite what anyone might say

I saw this while browsing the Xbox section of Gamestop in the Broadway Mall today. I was rather taken aback by the anime art on the cover; not too often you see that on an Xbox case. So I'm wondering, since there hasn't been any talk of this game whatsoever, what's it like? On the back of the box, it says it's got an up to 4 player co-op hack and slash mode, which could be pretty cool.

No clue but here ya go...

IGN:

5.0 Presentation
The cut-scenes are just static images, tiny scrolling text, and a rather obtuse voice over. Not exactly the stuff of legend.

5.0 Graphics
Been there and done that on weaker systems. This just doesn't shine on Xbox. Slowdown, uninteresting design, and lack of visual flare.

4.0 Sound
A variety of music, but most of it isn't very good and the sound effects are anything but effective.

5.0 Gameplay
Nothing terribly exciting. The hack and slash genre has certainly seen better. At least have some combo chains for your attacks. Simplicity is fine, but don't let it be boring.

6.0 Lasting Appeal
If it interests you, there's plenty to go back for after you've passed all 26 levels. A good job at longevity, but do you wanna play this again? Not likely.

5.2 OVERALL (out of 10 / not an average)
