Horizon Steel Frontiers announced - MMORPG from NCSOFT for iOS, Android and PC

Its absolutelly ridiculous and they know they can't sell their ugly western characters so they have being probably forced to pick Korean devs so they can make pretty girls for them lmao
Even more so its a mobile game, I dunno what is going on inside that company. Fortunatelly I have zero interest in this.

The timing of GG tweet makes sense now!

They are telling the world fatloy is the real horizon for gamers

This korean tainted mmorpg is just a quick side project for potential gacha. #notrealfatty

Goodlooking female characters are reserved only for mobile and PC crowd, for our ps5 gamers we got whalehunting course and a harpoon included as a dlc, godforbid u like ur women to be attractive.
Srsly wtf :messenger_squinting_tongue:

this gonna be a banger, odd choice not having it for ps5, guess they dont want to canibalize other gaas coming on console?

anyways good timing I got the iphone 17 pro max

These policies have literally no bearing on business strategic decisions.

Hermen Hulst has kept his same position, and regardless, the two examples I mentioned had involvement from the division he manages. No one at Sony on an executive level cares about any of this shit.
Hulst did not keep the same position and it's obviously a demotion of sorts.

He went from co-CEOing PlayStation in general to CEO of Studio Business Group while Nishino became the sole CEO.

Looks pretty basic, they were stood in water while an enemy used electricity attacks and nothing seemed to happen to them.

I haven't played MH in a while but it used to make sense to spec gear for what you were fighting to have resistances.

Jokes aside, it's a pity that the world of Horizon, which has plenty of potential, is wasted like this. There are many different things that could be done instead of cloning other games with a Horizon skin on top.

I actually think this is the best path forward for Horizon and I am not even joking. What we don't need is a third Alloy game with boring ass characters and a cliched open world checklist-athon. I'll take this exact game over Horizon 3 every day of the week. I will be there day one. Now put Eve in it and we are all set.

what a joke lol. How this game isn't being released on the PS5 I just don't understand. I wouldn't play it either way, but it's a nice fuck you to your PlayStation players.

Ok, I don't really know what to think about this. It doesn't look bad, but I'm not sure it's what I wanna play either. Still, it's a nice breath of fresh air to see beautiful women in this franchise.

Almost like there isn't some company wide mandate to adhere to certain art styles and art directions, and that teams and creators are generally free to make the games look how they want them to look.
More like it's being made in Korea, not Commiefornia or Euranistan, so they can make actually appealing characters without the risk of getting dragged through the mud for doing so

What a waste tho, this IP is cursed, it's never able to get the whole package, it's either cool robodinos with lame ass characters or cool robodinos with normal looking characters but in a lame ass MMO, lmao

Hum...

Horizon Zero Dawn: "In May 2023, it was announced on the official PlayStation blog that as of 16 April 2023, the game had sold over 24.3 million units." (Over 24M units in 6 years)
Horizon Forbidden West: "In May 2023, Sony announced that the game had sold over 8.4 million units by 16 April 2023" (over 8.4M units in a year)

But sure...poor successful IP. How will Sony survive with these sales.

I think the game lacks any form of appeal besides big ass robot dinosaurs. They probably take a reality shock and rethink their approach, hence why they used korean devs instead. They probably know how to catch the audience. The move to mobile could mean less resistance from people, mobile users tend to be more braindead with their purchases.

Same. The first game has an amazing story and lore and was more than just Aloy The Game, and it should have been a one and done.

They gave them away like AOL disks. I got three copies of Horizon just buying hardware.

No you wouldn't. You and everybody else would have complained about another live service multiplayer game that's going to flop like Concord and why Sony is wasting their time & money on another one.
Lmao so true. People apparently want more live service games on ps5 now.

I refuse to accept that you can't make something cool with dinobots-distopyan Earth-artifact exploration-tribal fights.

I mean, just look at the alleged "horizon clone" by Tencent. It has much more ideas, like bots customization and building settlements. I'd appoint a few guys from Asobi to design a fresh concept of Horizon GaaS and most likely they would come up with something better.
