Yeah, you've definitely had better luck than most.
In the first anniversary, we had multi-pull step-up's that reset each day, so you could go up to Step 6/7 or whatever, wait for reset, and then do it all over again the next day. Not only that, the rates for a 5* were a lot higher than what we're currently getting with it being a whopping 15% chance at the final step in the first anniversary. Granted, it was lower during the second set of step-up's we received for New Year's, but it was still higher than what it is currently (I believe 10% was the max?). To compensate, the filler pool wasn't as full of usable characters as they are right now, but at least you had a much higher chance to receive something if you pulled the later steps and, as mentioned, they reset daily. Not only that, they had single pull step-up's as well, for when you didn't want to pull multi-pulls. Those also reset daily.
The free 6* was nice, but again RNG could screw you over by giving you nothing of actual worth (as it did me). We get a 5* ticket in a few days, but again there's no guarantee we'll get anything with that either. If this was just a standard event it'd be fine, but anniversaries in gacha games are supposed to be the BIGGEST EVENT OF THE YEAR, not so much here. It's not the worst I've experienced, although to be completely honest, I'm finding it a little difficult to think of one that had it worse. The only saving grace for me is, once again, that I was able to pull the three characters I've been wanting for a long time (FB Ichigo, Riruka, and Speed Kenpachi), but that was completely on the luck side-of-things. Given the number of 5* I did pull (four total), I know how fortunate I was.
