Bleach DS is online

It was mentioned in another thread but everyone ignored it, so here is the news again.
Treasure's beat-'em-up will support Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, for free, for up to 4 players simultaneously. The cart, as of October, is 1 Gigabit with 64k for save data, so it's one huge mother of a cart. Yuiter seems to think it has some connection with the GC game too, but doesn't say how.

Anyway, it's out on 26 Jan in Japan.

1Gbit cart? I wonder why Sega is using them in their latest games. I doubt tRB uses it to it's full capacity, I wonder if Bleach will. Come on Treasure, gimme lots of Bleach goodness. :)

now this is worth sorting out a nintendo-compatible network for. i'd planned to buy this anyway because i'm a treasure fanboy, but now i'll actually get to play it multiplayer. awesome.

It's also developed by that small obscure Japanese company... what was its name? Gold? Surprise? Pleasure or something?

Yeah, but Reno said it didn't play very well at TGS :\

After just having watched episode 58 I can't help but smile at the thought of using Bankai online.
that episode was awesome I was expecting Ichigo to remove the weights off his legs :P

but seriously this series is kicking so much ass right now. the difference between episode 3 to something like episode 54 for example is just wow, seems like a whole new series. the series started boring now waiting a week for an episode is torture, torture I tell ya.

sadly this game will probably no come here same as Jump SuperStars, import get definitely.

I've already got Jump Superstars. Bankai Ichigo is pretty craptacular though. :(

As for the ep, haha yea I get what you mean. Sort of like Rock Lee in the chuunin exams [Naruto]?
The part I especially liked is when Ichigo starts warping around faster and faster until it seems like there are hundreds of him circling Byakuya and he says "Yo, what's wrong?" :lol

any clarification on that...?

there might be some truth to it. The game is rather SLOW. The video should be on 1up.com. Hopefully they will fix this, but I somehow doubt they will.

You don't think they'll fix slowdown from an early build of the game? :lol

you know as cool as the game looks I still don't know what's the game about, 4 player matches? that's all?

Umm... no it isn't. The standard DS game card is 1 gigabit.

Not the standard, it can go up to 1 gigabit.. I dont think a game actually has used that size of a cartriddge till bleach ds.. so hes right..

just watched the vid. it seems sort of stilted. the speed looks about the same as some characters in last blade 2 (which is fine). But maybe its the stiff animation? something looks off... the dash on the one character (throws out wave patterned fireballs) seems slow though.

not slowdown...

and i hope there is an option to turn off the intro animations for those special attacks... unless they are like Guilty Gear 1 style uber death moves that dont happen often.

Ummm, what?

His question is pretty clear. Is it a fighting game or a beat 'em up (Street Fighter II or Streets of Rage)? It's a fighting game, of course, but that made me think of how awesome it would be to have a 4 player co-op beat 'em up online on the DS.

1 gigabit!? Christ, that's a big cartridge (256 megabyte?).

Wonder how much it retails for?
i thought 1 gigabit was 128MB? I've forgotten the math for working that out.

could be wrong... wouldn't be the first time and wont be the last :P

It's not slowdown. It's slow gameplay. And the "early" build was something they showed 2 months ago, which is what? 3-4 months before the game will be *released*? Not going to happen.
