No reason for me to hate on this but they just never really evolved. Then when they maybe tried, it was too late and just not very good.

But they have a lot of really fun, classic songs that are still fun to listen to sometimes, so why not.

Tried for tickets on a presale this morning. Immediately gone but £92 for standing in Manchester, they can Blink 1-8-Do one. Especially when they're gonna play every festival under the sun in 2024 anyway. Worse yet they shared a massively misleading poster on Instagram that implied they had several support acts, they don't, it's one per show and the UK gets the worst.

WORSE YET is that down in London there's a golden circle tier, as in, you have to buy "front standing" or "back standing" tickets. Imagine paying so much to be cut off at a barrier by people who paid more... at a Blink-182 show.

No thanks. Got my friends Pink tickets instead. At least she puts on a show. Think we might take that money and spend a night in London watching King Gizzard, will cost us about the same and we get a microholiday out of it.

edit: seems he was uncertain in July. Guess it confirms he is out.

tried to get tickets during the presale. what a shitshow that was. there's a few crappy seats left for £90 or something. fuck off! i'll check when the general sale starts tomorrow to see if there are any standing tickets released again but not holding my breath.

getting tickets for concerts these days sucks. i tried to get MCR tickets a while back and i was looking at £300! lowest it went was £120.

anyway, now Tom is back it means Skiba can focus on AK3 full time or do more solo stuff. I loved him in Blink but he really shines in AK3. Love that dude. Hope they do a UK tour soon. Should be a lot easier to get tickets for them.

Trio toured earlier this year, saw them in Manchester. I Hope they come back soon, but they havnt released anything to tour on since then, be nice if they come back to play slamdunk fest again or something tho! Seen them like a dozen times now 😅

i know but still hope they come back soon lol alkaline trio is easily the band i've saw live most times. met skiba a few times too and he recognised/remembered me :messenger_smiling_hearts: hopefully a new album comes soon :)

I hung out at the back of the academy in Manchester once to meet them, matt tried to act like a roady, hood up, head down, carrying gear, and slunk off to the coach! Dan was awesome tho lol

Didn't realise there were many fans of alk3 out there on gaf 😆

I liked their California album. I didn’t listen to the album after that, but California was something I’d play everyday. I’m happy this is happening as Tom DeLonge has a great voice.

Honestly, I like it.

Song's catchy enough, and there are few things that light me up like a bunch of happy kids.

I won't buy it, but the video made me smile, so that'll do.

Peaked at the self titled album and should have called it a day there. Neighborhoods was ok and the dogs eating dogs LP was actually decent ish. Never listened to anything when skiba was in the band as it looked like pure shit

Sure. I'm up for some more Blink 182. Certainly a band I listened to a lot in my late teens. On of their songs is also still on my Christmas playlist that I play every year.

Slightly off topic - I see you're a fellow Trio fan as well. Bravo, sir, you seem to have excellent taste.

I'm excited! Just got a ticket to see em. I saw em once before several years ago. I have a weird relationship with Blink, Some albums I think are absolute masterpieces (S/T & California are their two best, in that order) -- but other ones I just can't get myself into (Neighborhood, 9, for instance).

Anyway, I'm hoping their next album is more like S/T.

Did you listen to the deluxe version? It has around double the songs of the original album. I didn't like the new songs as much, but still liked them.

My younger brother who has seen them live before said they were absolutely awful, out of tune, no encore and from the moment they starting playing they didn't seem like they wanted to be there at all.

That being said, I don't think I've ever heard anyone say blink 182 is good live, hell whenever you watch any live videos on YouTube they sound bad.

Hopefully the new songs are decent though.

Edit: also surprised to see so many other alkaline trio fans in the comments, I imagine most of our introductions was stupid kid :)
