Coachella has Morrissey and MBV. Easy winner.

MBV would be interesting to see (Morrissey LOL), but despite the presence of them and Sir McCartney, I have to give the lineup nod to Bonnaroo. In fact, I'd say it's the best festival lineup of the last 40 years.

Last year, I got a backstage pass (my good friend is in the Such & Such art group, who has had performed for the last 4 years). I do hope I get the lanyard hookup again.

Tickets on sale now! Go Go Go !

total ended up being $267 including fees & delivery. 4 days; 2 Phish shows. Springsteen. Totally worth it. :)

So jealous. I last went in 2007 when I was pregnant. That was an experience, certainly, but I found out after I already had my tickets and hey, The White Stripes were there. Would love to catch this year's line-up... the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Neko Case, damn, I'm sure I would have lots of dilemmas about who to see and who to skip. I shake my fist (merrily) at anyone attending.

I'm going, as a volunteer. Not really sure how it's going to work out, but I'm hoping I can see the majority of stuff that I want to

Never done it, but I've always heard they're pretty good about working the schedule around the bands you really want to see. Hope it works out for ya

that's an awesome lineup compared to lollapalooza's this year and I'm saying that as a guy that would rather gouge my eyeballs out with spoons than go to a phish show.

:lol :lol

Productivity? What's that?

Oh, wait, is that what I'm supposed to be doing now? Hm. I could have sworn this computer was in front of me just for final bonnaroo preparations.

I have to go in as a lowly general admission camper, but my wife and I are supposed to get the backstage lanyards early Friday. Here's hoping that works out. If nothing else, I already have 2 friends on the inside that will be bringing my beer in. I can't wait to see Phish again. They are really tearing it up on this tour.

I, too, will be a lowly general admissioner. It's my first year and I think of it as part of the experience. I'm heading down tomorrow evening after work with around four other friends, all Roo virgins as well.

Any Gaffers want to try a meet up? I'm not sure how many of us are going, but I think it would be cool to meet some of the faces behind the avatars. :lol

David Byrne's current tour is awesome. Easily his best music in awhile, and his touring band slays Talking Heads talentwise.

I'm looking forward to his set. Hell, I'm looking forward to much of Friday. Animal Collective, over to Grizzly Bear, over to TV on the Radio, then David Byrne.

And then there's Saturday. Argh. I'm getting a headache just thinking of all of the conflicts that I have. Wish I gave a damn about either of the headliners, it would be much easier to justify all of the missed bands if I wasn't annoyed wtih two unopposed four hour blocks by bands I couldn't care less about seeing. As it stands, though, Mars Votla somehow managed to finish fourth in line of bands that I want to see during their spot. Four bands I really want to see all at once, then Bruce gets to drag on and on for nearly five freaking hours.

I was checking out some stuff from some of the bands I don't know.. anyway, have you guys heard Russian Circles? Pretty heavy instrumental band outta Chicago. Never heard of em and they're playing the Troo Music Lounge at 8:30 on saturday and I'm totally diggin their stuff.

Here's some of what I've been listening to:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmOR1I2Q-OI (live, kinda slow start, kicks in ~3:00)

Couple tracks from their new album...

My plane leaves in about 14 hours. I should arrive on the farm by 2:00pm tomorrow. I reckon (look at that, already got the lingo down) I'll be camping at the Pussy Galore campsite again, as it's the only home I've ever known at Bonnaroo.

God, it's going to be so sticky!

ick. The NiN, moe., Ben Harper time slot is bugging me. I've never seen NiN, and this is supposedly their last tour for a while... so I might check that out. Then again, Ben and moe. :(

Wilco > Mars Volts for me.

They really should have put bands opposite Bruce, though. I'll be there as a Phish fan mostly, but Bruce... other than a couple songs (GHOST OF TOM JOAD!), I don't really care much for.

Wish I could go but it's expensive and wouldn't have enough for the "goodies" I'd like to buy once I got there. Plus my knee is fucked up. :( Maybe next time.

People don't sell goodies there. They just give them away, it seems. At least in my experience. :)

Have never been fond of Thursdays, really. I don't know any of the bands
that are playing, so... Though, last time I was there ('06), I watched The
Motet play. They were so amazing.

Last time I roadtripped it there was in '06. From Salt Lake City to
Manchester. Left on Tuesday morning, go there Thursday morning.
My buddy drove the entire way there (I paid for gas! That was the
deal). It was a pretty fun ride, but too big of time commitment. Flying
this year, then taking the 'roo shuttle from the airport. :\

just got back from Tennessee today. The music was so awesome. Phish + Springsteen was an historic event.

Fun/memorable moments for you guys? Here's a few that come to mind for me..

Elvis Costello / Jenny Lewis
Springsteen watching Okkervil River from the side of the stage
Neko Case / Triumph the Insult Comic Dog doing a duet of Swing Low, Sweet Chariot
Girl Talk celebrating and dedicating a song to his hometown penguins who had just won the stanley cup before his last song and dropping a bunch of balloons.
Dillinger's last song, singer and guitarist jumping into crowd to finish it out, general insanity
Springsteen's 'its too hot for santa' santa claus is comin to town

lol. I didn't see most of those. The santa clause thing was so ridiculously
spontaneous, though. :) Loved it. I can't believe Bruce found it so hot; by
the time he took the stage, I was actually quite chilly. And compared to
other years, the weather was pretty mild (for the most part) because of the
clouds.

It was Girl Talk who dropped the Balloons? I noticed them during Ani
DiFranco and hoped she was going to drop them. :(

I liked the thursday night storm, though.
