That's bull..

It's most certainly not.
If you don't think that there are people who would do certain things if not for their religious belief, you're sorely mistaken.

because of god... I think that makes it very relevant.

So decry the person and their choices.
If one has a bone to pick with an entire religion, or religions in general, this thread isn't about that, and it's extremely disrespectful to the people who were involved in this.

I would have killed myself a while ago if that were the case, but obviously you just wanted to get that shot in.

Maybe you wouldn't. Maybe without religion people would care more about the mentally ill and suicidal. Maybe we'd stop calling on the sky man to fix all our problems and actually fix them ourselves.

This is a conspiracy that I believe of someone in the government having something to do with it.

Ive seen some of the videos of surveillance cameras of businesses nearby and some people look very suspicious.

Well, thanks for discounting my life. I appreciate it.

Pretty much done with this line of discussion in this topic. People are free to continue as they wish.

He was legit Shook
Ones Pt. II
when he wrote that

when the slugs penetrate you feel a burning sensation
getting closer to God in a tight situation

Yeah! Fuck religion! And fuck the people with mental illness who find comfort in it!

I wasn't talking about him but the people around him. The ones who would tell him he's possessed or needs to pray to God instead of going to a psychiatrist.

Real talk: if most people didn't believe in religion, you'll find a lot more suicides imo. Religion is a coping mechanism to quite a lot and that alone makes them able to sleep at night.

And in exchange you would have a whole bunch of people who would be less inhibited in what they did because they wouldn't feel they had to answer for it later.

The whole point is really moot to a discussion about someone who went and killed a bunch of people.

I've never understood how one can imagine billions of people abandoning their values and turning into killing, thieving, rape machines all from finding out that there will be no ultimate punishment/reward in the afterlife. Everyone's problems and responsibilities would be the same after the revelation as they were before it. Why wait, we have millions of non believers who should apparently be running wild since they're ultimately free of everlasting judgement from a divine authority.

Of course we don't see that and instead they have to answer for what they do now, in the societies we live in with the one life we know for certain that we have. It seems to me that anyone who poses this theory must see divine justice as the only motivator for not turning into crazy people, while ignoring all the other factors which contribute to it in a much more immediate and meaningful way.

And where is moral accountability or justice when you can simply repent and accept Jesus and be back in god's good graces. Or what about people who believe they have good reason, reason from God himself even, to do something immoral or wicked? I don't think that having second thoughts about being punished in the afterlife would even occur to them if they think they are doing God's work or something God approves of. People will find loopholes in anything to do whatever they want to do anyway if they want to do it bad enough, even the supposed objective moral framework of religion.

I would think a person would find social awareness/cooperation more important to their personal fulfillment and longevity in a single knowable life, than they would if that life was simply a rest stop you lingered at until it was your time time to be judged on how many good things you did and bad things you apologized for so you can then be sent to the paradise of everlasting life.

The feds put that there. Sly dogs even riddled it with bullet holes to make it look real. Jahar is far too cute to be guilty of terrorism...

What's shahied? Martyr? Google ain't helping, maybe it's not spelled correctly.

Woeful, regardless. Losing all means of coping and resorting to murdering in hopes that the divine will feel for him... yikes.

I feel bad but I laughed so hard at

"God has a plan for each person. Mine was to hide in this boat."

Did he recognise how humorously cowardly that sounds? It's Monty Python-esque. "I'm not retreating, I'm advancing in reverse."

It's almost as if you've never actually thought about the claim you're making. We have societies now that are incredibly irreligious, and infact they have some of the lowest rates of crime/social dysfunction in the world.

Your logic....it's, it's...

I want to cast a jihad on you and mayyhem with every non-practicing, Catholic bone in my body.
