I'm curious how they "animate" them, I mean what the process is like. Making good 3D animation is already good, but with these guys you can't use motion capture directly because their skeletons are so different.

I wonder how much people would fear this stuff if the movie terminator didn’t ever exist.

There’s always a yin and a yang. Could robots turn on us one day? Sure. But I think what’s more likely is we use them to do the dangerous jobs for us that put humans in danger. Like save families from burning buildings. Jump in rivers to save drowning people or people stranded in bodies of water, breach rooms with enemy combatants, and handle toxic and/nuclear waste.

And maybe one day they will be sent off to other planets to build settlements for us so they’re ready made in case we need to leave earth and migrate to a planet one day. They can survive the trip and atmosphere that we can’t.

Still waiting on a horror movie/game to use robots like these well.

Black Mirror tried but they went for the chihuahua sized version which was actually less scary than the bigger ones that actually exist in real life NOW so they dropped the ball on that shit.

It's an episode of Black Mirror where these guys have basically taken over. It's a cool episode that leans a bit more horror.

As my post above states though, I was disappointed they didn't go for a larger, creepier looking one.
