The reaction of the family members is disbelief, shock, and denial. They've been open about their history and immigration. These guys have spent most of their adult lives in the United States.

Seems to me they're just another immigrant family, and these crimes have nothing to do with their religion or heritage. It has nothing to do with extremists or foreign terrorism. It seems to me like it's a Columbine type situation with a couple of angry young assholes who lost it. Pressure cooker bombs? Robbing a 7/11? A couple of losers, nothing more.

Trying to spin this into evil foreign terrorism is sounding more and more ridiculous.

I'm not sure about foreign involvement but Islamic extremism? The YouTube stuff seems pretty damning.

I heard they've got someone, not necessarily the suspect, at Hazel and Howe? That's what I heard. He's on the ground not moving.

I was thinking about that at lunch. If it was someone I knew, family or friend or whatever, I would just get on TV and beg for them to turn themselves in. If they aren't guilty, they can fight for their true innocence. I wouldn't get on TV saying their were framed or this or that. I'd hate to accept it was true, but either way it wont do anyone any good by running around and possibly hurting other people.

I have absolutely no idea how I'd react. I'd imagine I'd act like the uncle. Like he said, he was just watching events unfold completely horrified about the whole situation and then next thing he knew, it's some of his family members and then gets bum rushed by media who haven't exactly been doing great job to this point.

Seriously, I heard one of them yell out the question "How do you feel about America!?"

Am I alone in feeling like the military like lockdown of this city just feels like a bit much?

If this was 24 and a guy was running around with a briefcase nuke, I'd totally get it, but this is one punk with maybe a gun, and maybe a grenade or two. I know that's a serious threat, but I'm just not sure what to make of so many "troops" rolling through the streets of an American City.

It's certainly setting a precedent.
