sigh

So every single night someone it shot to death in Chicago. Does that mean they should have "troops" rolling through the streets of that city to make sure not one more person gets shot tonight?
If one individual causes over 200 casualties and is still on the run seeking to cause havoc, yes, they will likely do this.

What happened to the 60-70 year old guy they had down with a Dead Man's Switch?

was there ever even a confirmation that he had such a thing? judging from what i heard on the scanner, i would guess that he was just some random innocent person who had something in his hand and the cops played it safely.. probably one of many people they've stopped and investigated by now. no need to dwell on them.

i'm sure some conspiracy theory will be born from this though :P

i left for 2 hours and i thought the same 1 guy vs 9000 cops

fixed.
not 100% certain about that number though, just saw it mentioned earlier

If you fail to understand that there is a substantive difference between a street crime and this situation, then I'm afraid there is very little I or anyone else can do for you.

Mr. W speaking the truth.

Bruiser, you're one incompetent asshole if there ever was one.

So... If they don't find the guy by next week, should Boston still be in lockdown?

Is the price you're willing to pay to feel safe truly limitless, or are you just posing?

There are obviously limits.

I wish this much money and energy was put into solving the huge gun deaths every day though.

SWAT in your living room RT @MunKYBoii Just got searched for safety measures for the #manhunt in #watertown

Maybe it's just me, but these photos make me feel kind of bad. Despite the fact that it's important to find this guy, I don't think think it justifies the extent of an event this has become via locking down whole of Boston with enormous amounts of police and soldiers, and going thoroughly through every random person's private residences.

I can just imagine some guy sitting in his house smoking a joint and then looking out his window and a fucking army of cops are right outside. Then a SWAT team knocks wanting to look around the house lol.

If they walked in a random dude's house and found lines of coke right now they probably would not give a shit. These guys are worried about explosive devices and artillery and who knows what else

No one WANTS this.

Martial law in essence, to catch one guy. Sad.

If you lived in Boston, wouldn't you feel your city has a duty to catch the marathon bombers?

Or would you rather just let him go and cause more damage (which he clearly intended to do judging by last night's MIT attack)?

I like how you simplify the issue down to just being "one guy" as if all of his actions have nothing to do with anything and that just because he's one guy makes him insignificant.

I'll just say before more people lose their shit over family and friends making what seems like insane statements about a person. They are dealing with utter shock and disbelief and it's probably their way of coping. It's easier to at the moment rely on the memories of what a person has done than what the media and the world is telling you.

At some point it'll sink in, but don't be assholes because people are trying to 'remember' a friend they way they knew him.

Single incidents of people getting intentionally or unintentionally shot in gang violence is nowhere near the same thing as acts of terror where the perpetrators try to use explosive devices aimed at killing and maiming the largest amount of innocent victims possible to further a political/religious end. This is basic common sense here.
