I'm suprised Four Brothers did that well. Also :lol @ European Gigolo.
Four Brothers looks kind of garbage.

Also that's not Detroit. The skyline/downtown doesn't even look like that, and there's no mountains with a frozen lake anywhere close to the city.

WTF is up with saying a movie takes place in Detroit when it obviously looks nothing like it. Assault on Precinct 13 was alright, except for the bigass forest downtown.

"Four Brothers" was pretty good. Aside from the enormous amout of comedy, I thought that it was alright.

Anyone know how much Deuce cost to make?

$22 million. Box Office Mojo includes the budget in the weekend chart now.

According to BOM, 22 Million. So it should make that up, either just in theatres or with the DVD Release.

The Great Raid on the other hand...How do they expect to make $80 million on it?

wedding crasher and charlie and the chocolate factory are both going to pass the 200million mark.

Deuce Bigalow: European Bomba :lol

Seeing March of the Penguins in the top ten still makes me smile.

Is there a full box office with more than just the top ten out there? Curious to see how Junebug is doing (fantastic film).

I'm pretty sure the first Deuce Bigalow (which was considered a surprise hit) only grossed 15 million on its first weekend. With a 9 million dollar opening weekend, and a shoestring budget, this Deuce Bigalow will be considered a success as well.

The Great Raid on the other hand...How do they expect to make $80 million on it?

Those folk in Europe seem to enjoy this type of movie much more than we do.

Looks like Duece will probably make back it's entire budget and then some at the boxoffice before even the DVD release. Hard to bomb with only a $22 million budget.

If you were to, you know, click on the link in the first post, you would get the top 39 estimates. And tomorrow they will be updated with final numbers for a good 130 or so. :)

Maybe by expanding the release? It was only in 819 theaters this weekend.

They never, ever expected to. Hell, the film has been sitting on the shelf for at least two years due to its nature...it's a war picture with a lack of constant bloody conflict and a huge death toll.

There will be no expansion...it will simply fade off into oblivion and be forgotten.

I saw March of the Penguins this weekend.

Cutest. Movie. Ever. There are more "awwww" moments in that movie than every other movie ever combined.

I think Wedding Crashers needs just about 3 more weeks to break 200 million. GO WC! Movie of the year! \m/>_<\m/

My hatred for Andre Benjamin will prevent me from seeing Four Brothers.
The thing is, though... he's not that bad of an actor. He was able to pull off a couple funny one-liners in Be Cool. Granted, he didn't write them, but the fact he could pull them off makes him just about as good as 80% of the rest of the actors in Hollywood.

and to the idea of people saying the film is in Detroit but it not being shot there... it's total bullshit (that they do it, not the point you made.) Narc was the only movie I've seen where they actually did a good job of shooting important scenes in Detroit and the rest outside the city while still making it look like it was all done in the city. Though I believe they did their filming in Canada, it was pretty much all just across the river in Windsor. No biggie.

Four Brothers was fun.
Yep! The movie actually surprised me because I thought it would suck or just be ok. It's pretty good. Funny how Tyrese always banging some chick in a movie.

A lot of the movie was shot here in Toronto, along with a smaller town in Ontario (whytemyke says it was Windsor, so I'll go with that). It's always humourous seeing movies set in different places but bearing obvious Toronto trademark locations. Exit Wounds was one of the best for this (think this was set in Detroit as well), showing DMX drive by a Toronto court house twice in about ten seconds, then later showing an electric banner ad in the distance flash an ad for Skydome. :lol

And I figured Four Brothers looked decent...don't know why so many people were writing it off. Of course I haven't even seen it yet, but hopefully I'm able to on Thursday.

I actually saw this. I was pissed off at the end since it was so unrealistic, that is, until I learned it was based on reality. My friend I saw it with knew all along, and just laughed as I said, "What the hell, No way".

Good movie. Too bad there were only three other people watching it in the large stadium-seated theatre I was in.
