MILWAUKEE - An 11-year-old boy was charged Wednesday with raping a 76-year-old neighborhood woman in her home as three of his friends stood watch.



Police said that for a week before the attack, the boys had been "terrorizing" the woman in her house, repeatedly breaking in and taking cash and other items.

The woman, who lived alone, told police she was taking a sponge bath in the kitchen Friday when the 11-year-old walked in, demanded money and then ordered her to take off her clothes and go into the bedroom, according to court papers.

The boy's brother, a 13-year-old who was among the three other boys also charged, said he heard the woman say: "I'm just an old, half-crippled lady, I'm not going."

The woman said the 11-year-old put on a condom and tried to rape her, followed by a second boy.

The 11-year-old was charged in juvenile court with sexual assault and being a party to burglary and criminal trespassing. The other boys — ages 11, 12 and 13 — were charged with being a party to burglary and criminal trespassing.

In court Wednesday, the 11-year-old facing the less serious charges called out, "Hi, Mom" after spotting his adoptive mother.

"I'm very hurt because my son was raised as a good boy," she said outside court. She complained that police abused the boys to obtain confessions.

This story makes my stomach turn. Even as desensitized as I've become to things, due to the internet, i.e. porn, disturbing images, violence, etc., I am still repulsed by this story. When you stop and think about it, that is one of the most vile and horrific images in my mind. There are few things that reach that level of depravity.

Hey, look on the bright side...at least he used protection. The sex education taught in schools must really be working.

In all seriousness, why would he use a condom? Odds are, she doesn't have an STD. It's not like she could get pregnate either. Maybe he just didn't want to leave any DNA evidence behind. Really, though, you would think using a condom would take all the joy out of the rape itself. I know it goes a long way toward making regular sex less fun.

Haha I love how people think you have to screw up as a parent to have a kid do this. It isn't necessarily a parent's fault. Kids have a mind of their own.

You have to screw up as a parent to have your kid do this. Obviously his parents are fucking morons. This child was obviously never taught basics on right/wrong, and this child is obviously never properly supervised. Sure, the idea sprouted between he and his friends, not the parents, but it's the parents' gross neglect that allowed him in eleven years to become a disgusting human being and to be allowed to associate with other disgusting kids.

*shudders* You can just tell this 11 year old's trying to immitate what he's heard a bad person is cause its cool. He just ended up doing it all wrong. Robbing people is bad, must be cool. Check. Raping women is bad. Must be cool. Guess he didnt consider the age variable.
