She might be entertaining the possibility of bringing someone into her life more permanently, someone who could be a father to Maddox (and presumably you'd want someone more "Brad Pitt" than "Billy Bob" for that). But then, I think I recall her saying that she wasn't sure if she wanted any father figure in Maddox's life, as she fears they would simply be transient.

As for Pitt, my cynical side thought it suspicious how interested in charity and Africa Brad Pitt has become recently (with Bono's recent campaign etc). Not sure if he's trying to impress Jolie or not, but I guess it can't be bad in her books.
