As I said, good directors will get good performances out of competent actors. Brad Pitt is a competent actor.

I guess I'd label him a competent actor in specific (read: easy) roles, and a trainwreck of an actor in any role that asks him to stretch even a bit.

But Keanu Reeves was competent in the John Wick movies too. That franchise doesn't ask him to do much outside of squint and do the gun stuff, which he seems like he likes to get into.

Someone hasnt watched Twelve Monkeys (the movie, not the tv series), uncultured swine.

To be more blunt, no he isnt a bad actor and you have no idea what you're talking about if yout truly believe that. Sure he aint Al Pacino, but there is an inbetween bad and the Pantheon of Acting. He more than makes up for in charisma anyway.
The guy has insane range, from Legends of the Fall to crazy person in Twelve Monkeys to WW2 tank captain in Fury, to Achilles in Troy. Cmon dude, you telling me you saw Troy and he didnt make you say "damn, this guy is a badass" ? that role is iconic of the ultimate warrior, he makes that entire movie, he carried it like Atlas carried the Earth.

Brad Pitt is 57 years old. He's probably 15 years past being ridiculously handsome. He probably lost that title sometime around The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (great movie btw). I just watched Money Ball and I swear he eats in every scene because that's the best he can do acting wise. "What should I do with my face now that my dialogue is over? Throw food in my mouth. Win awards. "

He doesn’t seem like the sort of actor who will go off an do theatre for a few years because he loves the craft, for better or worse he’s a Hollywood guy through. But he’s good enough at what he does in the films I’ve seen him in (I need to add a few more to the list now).

Based on the clip a few posts up I’ve just seen for the first time, I think you’re right. It’s probably best that he sticks to the usual southern accent in future (or Pikey)
