Apparently, this is the second time it has happened. He said it happened once before and he emailed them and they removed it. This time he sent the email but they have not removed it.

That being said, I've been looking for a while and I am having a hard time finding any nude photos whatsoever, so I'm not sure if the pic is on there or not. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place?

It's entirely possible that there is no phone number and the ex is merely trying to one up you by saying he called.

If the pics are removed he'll say it was his doing, and if they send you a confirmation email he'll say they did it as a formality to let you know they're gone.
