Regular Bright Eyes, not a Digital Ash type show (which was really weird, truthfully). I expect to see the GAF-Seattle contingency turn out for the 11/4 show.

FUCK YOU CONOR OBERST AND YOUR TOO GOOD FOR DETROIT ASS

I mean do what now

Least he could've done was brought the Faint to the Majestic.

damn, he hit Austin on his Spring and Summer runs. Too bad. Spring run was much better, it was just Bright Eyes and he played for nearly two and a half hours.

Oh, and The Faint is very good for what they are, but I dont think the two fan bases appreciated the others style. Half the crowd left before Conor got on stage, and the other half seemed pissed during the faint. The one thing that united us all was our dislike for Airborne Aliby.

Oh, and Cursive is still better than anything left on Saddle Creek.

OK where the hell is a Chicago area date?

I love how he is avoiding big cities such as Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago, and New York City in favor of smaller towns such as Missoula, Fargo and Bellingham. Way to stick it to the man, Connor.

Nice one buddy, keep it up and I'll see to it that you're barred from any and all Pumpkins reunion shows. :lol
:lol Oh and how will you do this?
You don't even know me! :lol :lol

I still can't believe you like... bright eyes more than Oceansize :lol
It sounds like a 6th grader writing goth songs :lol

Because he's an incredibly TALENTED goth song writing 6th grader :lol

I understand not liking BE, but I don't know where you get the goth idea from, have you even listened to I'm Wide Awake?

I don't know. I listened to them once and that was enough :lol
Goth, pop, indie, whatever. If he doesn't sound like The Cure he sure is trying to look like The Cure.

Conor is a pretty fucking amazing songwriter, laugh it up, Diablos. Pretty much better than 95% of musicians today. People love to hate him 'cos they just wish they were as awesome as him.

I'll be at the Fargo show. <3

Omaha at the Orpheum should be fantastic. I much prefer Bright Eyes proper to Bright Eyes Faint-Lite. Even though I dig Digital Ash, live it was pretty unimpressive.

Ah, the Orpheum... my wedding reception is going to be not too far from there.

Did Cursive break up or something?

I'm up for seeing Bright Eyes.

And Diablos, how could you call Bright Eyes GOTH? Conor's never even worn a leather skirt, unlike some people.

Thought you would be.

Yup, that whole Glass and the Machines of God failed concept Corgan tried pulling off was terrible. Actually, I thought Jimmy in tight leather shorts and an open vest was the most disturbing. Now Melissa Auf Der Mar in those leater outfits she had on during the Machina tour.... yow.

It's typical Diablos style, yapping on about things he does not understand. I don't mind him disliking Bright Eyes, but basing the sound on one listen? Dude, at least I bought that shit Oceansize CD and actually listened to it twice.

Hey, this could totally be like Sonic Youth guys.

Today, "lol Bright Eyes sux :lol"

Three months from now, "Conor is about the best song writer ever, totally in my top 5 favorites ever!"

how WAS the digital ash tour anyway? i didnt catch it cuz it was at the madafugging lakeshore (docks aka the worst venue in the city)

It was odd. Nick from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Mike Mogis and The Faint were his backup band, and aside from Lover I Don't Have To Love and one other old track, it was 100% Digital Ash. Compared to previous Bright Eyes show, it was actually really boring.

yeah, the chick with the cello from cursive was there too IIRC. It was a wierd show, and louder than it should have been.. especially given his audience... the im wide awake its morning tour was much much better.

And Im still hopeing Cursive gets back together..

OH SNAP I just checked their website, they are planning a 2006 release for a new album :D

Ok distantmantra, give the new Oceansize a good listen and I won't rip on Bright Eyes anymore. Even if you hate it.

This Sunday Sunday SUNDAY!! It's the battle of the GAF Pumpkins fans. In one corner we have the grandaddy fan, Diiistantmaannntra! And in the other corner, hailing from the great state of PA, we have the challenger to the throne Diiiiiiiiiiiiiaaaaaaaaablooos!!! Let's get ready to ruuuummmmblee!!

How about you give a listen to the I'm Wide Awake It's Morning in it's entirety and I will give the new Oceansize a listen? I really don't mind you ripping on Bright Eyes, it's your right, and far from personal man. It's just baffling to me that you gave them less of a chance than I did with Oceansize.

I think Diablos should listen to Lifted, I'm Wide Awake, and Digital Ash. And if he hates them, we'll give him new ears.

fux yuo!!
ok, you guys really tried pushing Pavement, MBV, Pixies and Sonic Youth on me.
After listening to all of these bands, as hard as I tried, I can't like the Pixies and Pavement (and NO, "Range Life" is not the reason why I dislike Pavement, I think that song is actually funny.) I don't hate the Pixies either, I just don't dig their discography. ::shrug:: And I really really don't see why indie rock fans fap over Stephen Malkmus all the time, but hey, to each his own. I find SY to be the 80's and early 90's indie rock band champ. The moral of the story is, don't think I'm so easily influenced. :p

:lol sounds good.

by the way I do recall listening to Digital Ash, and it bored me to tears so I uh, got rid of it.

99% of emo/indie bands suck, including Bright Eyes. If you want good emotional songwriting, pick up some Angels of Light or Swans albums. Or Joy Division, or Cure, or Leonard Cohen, PJ Harvey, Cop Shoot Cop, VNV Nation...there's so much better music out there.

Big fan of Joy Division, Cure and PJ Harvey here.

As for the Swans, I volunteered on a Kibbutz in Israel in 1998 and one of my housemates from Sweden was a huge Swans fan. After listening to some of their albums, I felt like I wanted to kill myself. Too depressing for me.

Haha.

Maybe that's why b0lly created teh ZWAN!!11! DOWN WITH JESUS! RIDE A BLACK SWAN! SOUNDS LIKE A SICK PORN BUT IT'S REALLY ABOUT WORLD PEACE!

Didn't an album of unreleased songs get released recently?

Hahaha, I know what shirt I'm wearing to the New Pornographers show next week :D

Tell Neko I said hi, too. But tell her my penis says hi. And you do that by thrusting your penis into whatever orifice of her's you can get it into and screaming "This is from hXc_thugg!!"

POOL STICK!!!

A pool stick is a phallic enough symbol for me. Aim for her crotch.

If anyone could find the Neko Case pool stick photos, I will love them forever.

Diablos, if you find them, I will make nothing but POSITIVE posts about Billy Corgan for the next month. And my nick will be changed to Corgan Fan (with a tag of "in the butt").

Go, my children, search!
