20~30 mins on YouTube is stretching my patience, beyond that it’s self masturbation

Planned to just peek at it, but ended up watching almost all of it. While I definitely didn't agree with all the Rami's choices. Even in a poorly constructed film with so many questionable decisions the emotional resonance destroys the current films.

Edit: The first few minutes of YouTuberness was painful but it got better once he started digging into the movie. Great vid

I get that in an age of twitter, people's attention spans and ability to use critical thinking skills beyond short bursts have been stunted, but Jesus. Not everything can be summed up like you want. I don't even entirely agree with HiTop films on everything and I think his delivery borderlines on cringy, but he is very articulated and does a good job explaining his opinions without repeating himself too much.

Got 2 kids, time is just way too short. If your “fan” analysis, of anything, is longer than a thesis, you just love hearing your voice.

Let's see, I can watch someone's opinion on a movie that is a bit under half the length of the actual movie that came out 14 years ago, or I could literally do anything else with my limited time between school, work, and family.

This shit is why I hate video culture of reviews and everything else that could easily be text. Let me read through shit, I guarantee I can read faster than anyone can spew information, especially considering I can skip chunks idgaf about.

I don't need to watch a youtube to confirm what I already know since the day I left the theater after watching Spidey 3. It was (still is) the second best motion picture of Spiderman, and whilst a terrible adaptation of the Venom storyline it's still filled with wonderful Raimiesque moments.

Finally figured out what the gaf in neogaf stands for...

To stay remotely on topic, any YouTuber who makes a 1-hour video (or longer) should include time stamps.

Haven’t checked for that video in the OP yet.

So don't watch it and don't bitch about it if your time is precious? You basically just wasted time complaining about it instead of just dismissing it and moving on.
By that argument, why are any videos made? Why aren't movies just books? Its easier to read through text right? Why are documentaries made then, they should just be blog posts!
This logic is astounding lol, there's so much work put into these types of videos and you completely criticize it because of your own personal issues.

Video is fine, and yeah, makes sense that a kid watching Spider-Man 3 would think it's a great film.
For me it doesn't change my opinion on the film. It's not the worst Spider-Man but it's not the best. It's very muddled and overstuffed. Might be better than Raimi Spidey 1, definitely better than the Amazing films. Majority of the MCU and DCEU is better.

Might be the most disappointed i've ever been by a movie in the theater. I didn't watch the video, but i've seen all of the pro-SM3 arguments before. They make some decent points and the movie isn't completely worthless, but it will always suck massive balls coming off of Spider-Man 2.

Have not watched this video, probably never will, but 3 was my favorite of the trilogy, no cap. Criminally underrated. Not an elite tier superhero film but much better than the other 2 on action scenes and visuals while being no cheesier than they were. Anyone who gets angry at Emo Peter but casually excuses Peter losing powers hardwired into his genetic code (completely undermining the "choosing whether or not to be Spider-Man" plot point) or Dafoe Goblin's ridiculous Ham performance just makes me laugh.
The movie had some problems, but I loved it. There hasn’t been a good super hero movie since.
X-Men: First Class exists, you know.

54 minutes? Just watch the movie I mean that video is half the length of the movie itself so it pointless really.

The movie definitely has problems, but some of those problems have roots extending back to the first movie. For one, I have always detested the super hero movie plot that involves the antagonist being killed at the end of the movie. I detested it the 1990 Batman movie (why the hell do you kill the Joker in the first movie?) and I detested here (how the hell do you just kill Venom off in one measly movie?).

I hate this trend that tries to gaslight people into thinking crap movies were good.
What else can be said except that yesterday's bad thing seems pretty good after looking at today's worse thing. This is true of Tobey Maguire and the whole damn trilogy of Spider-man movies. 3 compared to 1 & 2 is like a baloney sandwich on white bread next to a chicken, bacon, and ranch foot long or a meatball sub. All three are far more palatable than any of the later Spider-man movies. I especially can't stand the shit out of the Spider-man Tony Stark Super Intern movies. Literally screw that. Peter Parker and Spider-man are way damn more popular than Tony Stark and Iron-man ever were. Nevertheless, Robert Downey Jr. shipped that role so damn well you wouldn't know who is really the more popular super hero, and so it goes.

Spider-man 3 swallowed whole goes down about like you would expect an un-chewed chip or french fry with sharp edges and all, but that is basically true of a lot of third installments of a popular trilogies. At best, it's not quite The Return of the King but at worst it's not even in the same zip code of bad as TMNT III. 3 simply has some problems and appeared to lean a bit on the then-current emo punk phase that was going mainstream. It does this for better or worse although it feels for worse.

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I don't really see it as that (except maybe pretending the prequel trilogy didn't suck), but SM3 was nowhere near as bad as it got shit for. Take out the Sandman arc and its a good film. Should've just been Venom and Hobgoblin.
