Talk to me was one of my favorite horror films I watched in 2024. Really looking forward to this.

I thought Talk to Me was mediocre and mildly overhyped. This seems much darker thematically and more interesting, I might catch it at the cinema once its out.

I really like Talk To Me but yeah this seems alot darker and unsettling looks right up my alley.

Why does it feel like A24 is the only one making movies that are actually interesting?

That used to be true but their last few films haven't been very good. It used to be I wouldn't miss an A24 film. I didn't bother with their unicorn film or Opus.

A24 has too wide of a net with too many different creatives and directors to judge their entire brand on any few films.

It's not like Blumhouse where you can directly see when the line of quality dips and rises altogether.

Yeah this looks unsettling, Everytime there is a kid in a horror movie it just amps everything up.

Long legs recently was nice, so was the ring and its sequels, Halloween recent films ended up being action movies, this looks good.

I would tend to agree. I can't even remember the plot, which isn't great.

Edit: passing on trailer as I typically don't watch trailers but I'll end up watching this once it comes out. Talk to Me wasn't bad or anything

I think they act as a distributor more often than not, although they do make some films nowadays

they just have a good eye as to what good films are out there

I even avoid reading about the plot where possible

I find not having any sort of idea as to what the plot even is to be highly enjoyable. it even makes mediocre films better. I recently watched Heretic not knowing a single thing. it made the movie way, way, way more enjoyable then had I watched the trailer. the movie was okay, but going in blind elevated it to something special (despite me thinking it kinda fell apart at the end).

on the flip side, I do end up watching a bunch of pretty bad films that I would have avoided had I seen the trailer. still, I find it worth it, because when you stumble on amazing film blind, it is a highly memorable cinematic experience

edit: I watch a lot of really weird films, which especially benefit from going in blind.
