broken sword 3 vs beyond good and evil (xbox)

Blackace

if you see me in a fight with a bear, don't help me fool, help the bear!
my birthday is this sunday..and to tide me over until all the really good stuff comes out this fall I want to pick up something.... sooooooo I narrowed it down to these two (already have tons of crap) which is better??

If you decide to get BS3, you should really get a PC version. Console versions have atrocious load times. I didn't play it much, but from everything I've heard it's a rather meh adventure game where 90% of the puzzles consist of crate-pushing (and I'm not joking, reviews made a very big deal out of it)

I played Broken Sword for a while on XBox. I love adventure games and thought BS3 did a great job of creating that atmosphere. A laid back game where you used your mind more than your reflexes. I thought that the puzzles were fairly complex and definitely made you think about the clues you found and how to solve the puzzle.

However, BG&E puts the action in the adventure game which is what I prefer.

I would pick BG&E, but BS3 is a good choice if your in the mood for something more laid back.

edit: btw, my bday is Sunday too. Galleon for me.

8/8 in the house!!! To be honest Galleon has been on my mind also....

jedimike has pretty much written my post for me, although I played BS3 on PS2. They're both good games, but BG&E has the edge as a recommendation. BS3 is a little too short, and besides, BG&E has the best text entry system ever to grace a console, which has to be worth something. You'll actually enjoy entering passwords, I swear.

I played through BS3 on the Xbox and enjoyed it very much. Loading schmoading.

Also, don't get Galleon.

I'm sorry; it's just that the folks reviewing this for EGM are still writing their reviews and I don't want to unduly bias them should they happen to stumble upon my postings.

Just check rottentomatoes for the Euro reviews.

Yes, speak!

I've played both and I would go with Beyond Good & Evil. It's the better game, though BS3 had some really charming aspects to it. All in all it felt pretty clunky on there.
