Smells faintly of rancid stilton.
DENVER, Colorado (AP) -- Bruce Campbell has been a B-movie actor, a director and more recently a book writer. Now he wants to be a talk radio host.

"I think it would be fun to take questions and to just rag on Hollywood," said Campbell, who starred in the "Evil Dead" horror film series.

"They haven't got a new idea to save their lives," he said of Hollywood. "It's like 'Batman Begins' again, and again, and again. It finally took five tries to get it right."

Campbell, 47, was in Denver as part of a 44-city tour to promote his new book, "Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way," a novel he says is about what would happen if a B-movie actor was cast in a studio movie. He is also author of "If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B-Movie Actor."

Campbell has appeared in many studio films, himself. Most recently, he reunited with "Evil Dead" director Sam Raimi for small parts in both "Spider-Man" movies.

That could actually be a fun show. As long as he stays away from political talk or strippers .. it would be a nice change of pace. Just sort of an AICN in talk radio format.

madcow, do all your posts include news articles :lol

Negative, my job (3c2, tech control for the non military types) has me watching diffrent circuits and the computer networks. The tv has to be on cnn so I pick up alot of news thats why my posts seem news heavy.

Bruce was on the Don & Mike show a bit back... and he really ripped in to Hollywood... I was with him.... til he started hating on Batman Begins. ;)

but he said they did get it right

Yeah but he didn't say that on the radio show. He just hated on the entire series. Much of the series DESERVES hate... but not Begins...and dammit I'm a big Bruce Campbell fan... so that really gave me conflicted feelings listening to him talk.

If Bruce says BAtman Begins sucks ....then God damn my opinion was WRONG Batman Begins does suck!

el oh el.

I never quite got into the Bruce/Evil Dead fandom a lot of us videogame/movie fans seem to. I forgot the evil dead movies were so old.

I admire Bruce as a genuinely attractive personality, and I'd like to see him become a star, but its too bad to hear he is 47. It seems that stardom may forever elude him. He certainly deserves it more than some I can think of (Owen Wilson).

We all feel bad for Bruce not being a bigger star then he is, but lets not say something you can't take back.....

I LOVE Owen Wilson. But do any of you think he deserves the stardom more than Bruce? I know success in Hollywood is not based on quality or hard work, but you get my point.

Seriously, don't take away from a guy who deserves stardom as well. There's douche's a lot less deserving than him, and he's just getting there. It does suck Bruce Campell's never been bigger though.

Bruce Campbell was the hot 25 years ago.

I'd still listen to him! And if anyone can say anything remotely bad about Batman Begins, its Ash. I guess. :(

I don't know about his movie roles (although I love his turns in Royal Tenenbaums and Zoolander and to a lesser degree in Life Aquatic and Starsky and Hutch), but the fact he co-wrote Bottle Rocket, Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums more than makes him deserve the success he's having right now. Sorry Bruce.

I'd be more impressed if he put down Spider-Man!

Of course. He cant piss of Raimi. He's his only chance at having a job (appearing in his movies).

What is the fascination with Bruce Campbell? I dont think he deserves as much worship as he gets, especially on this forum. Is it because hes not well known and hes "our own private celebrity"? A champion of basement dwellers and videophiles.

Haha, well put. :-).
I have never seen a movie he has appeared in, and yet I'm a movie buff (not a fan of the horror/camp genre though). If it weren't for the Internet, I would never have heard of this guy. People have a way of making their personal idols bigger than they are.

I've always been a fan of Evil Dead and Bruce, been using my Army of Darkness username for years

can't speak for anyone else

He's just a cool guy with a lot of personality. Personality that he's good at making work for him on the screen. I'd love to see him tackle a big role.

The new book is enjoyable, but not a patch on "If Chin's Could Kill".

In that respect it's one of the bigger dissapointments of the year for me. :/
