It's more of a problem of perception than anything factual.

Considering how many people in this thread and other clamor for "Dr. Mario, now!!" and how many times we've heard complaints and arguments of how "third parties can't sell on the Wii, it's all bout Nintendo IPs", even if Dr. Mario being delayed isn't directly related to give space to third parties, it ends up helping to shape the WiiWare service as a friendly enviroment to anyone that wants to jump in.

I'm not saying they're delaying it with this purpose, but this is the way I see things. The less Nintendo populated WiiWare gets, the better to prove the point that third parties can sell on the Wii without the public and softhouses using the same old excuse.

We've asked both Oxygen Games and Two Tribes and both of them said we just had to wait until the games were released to see.

I predict 1000 for both.

Just downloaded Star Soldier R. I was expecting a short game but man the 2 min mode was very fast. Gameplay wise the game is excellent I wish Hudson released a full game. Scores and Rankings are my main attraction but the world rankings are filled with high scores mostly from Japan obviously, my rank is like 5800 :( but currently I'm the 2nd in the 5 min American Rank XD
 
I'm getting LostWinds. Something is telling me this is a impulse buy, but to hell with it. I want to have a WiiWare title and it looks to be the hottest.

I'll save some money for Defend Your Castle, maybe.

Just FYI, I don't think it's a "demo" that you can play alone. Pretty sure it only allows you to play multiplayer with whoever has the game and has you friended, probably limited by region as well.

I'm so jealous you guys get Toki Tori. I've never even played a Dr. Mario game so maybe I'll check this one out if someone sends me a demo (I doubt PAL Wii's can send to American right?) ;)
 
Are there any reviews for today's games yet? I'm interested in 3D Qix w/ animals.

Edit: I assume I can delete Lost Winds and keep the save fill for later episodes w/out any problem, but correct me if I'm wrong.
 
Wait for midnight (45 mins).

In terms of reviews, at British Gaming Blog we've got 4 (LostWinds, Final Fantasy, Pop and Dr Mario) going up in the morning (well, if I get off my arse and finish the Dr Mario one), and hopefully more when we can play the European releases...
 
How many blocks do these Wii Ware games use approximately (especially Lost Winds)?

I decided to do some fridge cleaning but I won't wait another 10 minutes for a single N64 game to be copied to the SD Card. What the fuck, it seems as if it was faster to redownload this stuff using a 56k modem connection.
 
I don't think the launch line-up for Europe has been announced. It'll be interesting to see what pops up at midnight.

Gandm, the biggest Wiiware games are 220-250 blocks (LostWinds and FFCC). I've just been cleaning my fridge for a while, but I'm reluctant to get rid of certain things (such as the Wii Fit channel and Everybody Votes).

Yeah, that's fine. Save files are completely independents of channels, you can delete the channels as much as you like, and the save files are kept intact.

The launch window list has been announced, and today Nintendo said all 8 of those go up tomorrow.

According to WiiWare-World.com LostWinds is 259 blocks. My Wii shows it as 258 blocks. Edit: I guess there could be a block for the save file, but I didn't check that as I'm only deleting the game to make room for Critter Roundup.
 
Man...its just Dr. Mario though. It's not like people are gonna knock down and drop everything just to purchase it. Its not like its New Super Mario Bros. 2 or something (that wouldnt be such a bad wiiware idea...:D ).

I still want it though. Havent played it since the NES days with other family members.
 
8 minutes till i look, and then decide not to buy anything just yet.

That is if I can get my housemates off Mario Kart at midnight... :lol
 
Does anyone else think Nintendo's DLC prices are kind of high? I don't know... I've bought a handful of VC games as well as Lost Winds but everytime I do I can't help but think the prices should all be $3-4 cheaper.

Toki Tori was originally a DS game, but publishers were too scared to accept a new IP. Over 70 levels. Two player hint drawing ala Zack and Wiki. Remade levels along with many new ones. Travel log kept via message board on Wii (I love Message Board integration!). Wouldn't comment on price... hmmm...

This sounds nice. Hopefully the game lasts long enough and is priced effectively.

I don't know... the game is just so... viral (no pun intended.) The presentation and music are addictive. Heck, I suck at the game and it's not one of my favorite puzzlers, yet somehow I own 5 different versions and will probably buy it on WiiWare.
