Burnout Legends Road Rage

Is it just me or are the Road Rage events in Burnout Legends WAY harder than they were in Burnout 3: Takedown? I am constantly zipping right past the targets and when I hit them they hardly ever crash. In BO3 I was taking shit down and all I had to do was tap them. Now it's pratically impossible. To make it worse it seems like the targets are few and far between and I'm wasting so much time just trying to find a target to takedown. I'm flattening the competition on Race mode, but Road Rage is just a bitch I'm up to the Sports class and it's gotten to the point that I just don't even want to bother with the Road Rage events anymore.

i thought Road Rage was so damn easy. actually Burnout Revenge in general is way easier than Burnout 3. in Road Rage, the time limit hardly matters since you get time extensions for every 2-3 take downs. Taking other cars down simply requires a light shove near a wall and they'll get taken down

taking them down doesnt require any effort at all. combine this with crashbreaker and you got a mode that's totally catered to the casuals

These two techniques usually work for me in BL's Road Rage:

1. Use boost to accellerate from a long distance right into the opponent's back end. You basically have to be going at the car's max speed. They usually lose control and go into a wall.

2. Get parallel with another car, move to the other side of the track, and then swirve inside to smash them into the wall.

Something else I discovered in Race Mode is that on the Interstate Loop, where there's an off ramp with the Xs indicating it's not on the track, if you have a bunch of cars following you and you crash head on into the transparent Xs the cars will follow you straight in and you get a triple takedown...I of course discovered this because I forgot where the track went and I totalled my car.

I'm talking about Burnout LEGENDS, not Revenge. I haven't played much of Revenge (waiting for X360 version) so I don't know how Road Rage is in it. I'd imagine that since you can now check traffic that it is super easy. There's no traffic checking in Legneds, and there are no time extensions for multiple takedowns. There's also no crashbreaker mid-race. As such Road Rage is a bitch.

Legends actually offers some challenge in Road Rage as opposed to Revenge.
Still, it's pretty easy. You just activate the boost and slam into them from side. Just time it right and that's it.

oops. well my post looks stupid now.

ok, Burnout Legends..yeah the road rage events are harder. taking down opponent in Legends is just harder than it was in Burnout 3...you REALLY have to hit them if you want to take them down. the best method is boosting and hitting them right behind them as someone mentioned already

I only really found a problem with them when you run out of boost, because all of the opposing cars seem to move at the speed of light (even though they're the same make as your vehicle)

I found it easier in legends too. Just head them dead on with a boost from behind and they usually end themselves.

And if you run out of boost during Road Rage, youre already losing bad.

Slightly off-topic, but since this seems to be the BL thread of the night, I'm on the fence on buying this one, mostly because I want to know if, and how well, does the game control with the D-Pad? I can't stand the analog nub on the PSP.

As a skill reference: I completed everything in Wipeout Pure using the D-Pad. Would/should I be able to do the same with Burnout Legends?

I played Legends with the d-pad, and it worked great. I completely forgot about the nub when I was playing the game.

Got 11 takedowns on my first try at Road Rage. That good, bad, or meh?
