Burnout Revenge Xbox Live performance

I started this thread so I could find out from those who are playing Burnout Revenge on the Xbox, what their online experience is like.

Burnout 3: Takedown had issues online, from my experience, and I wasn't the only one. I experienced disconnects while in game and also while at the lobby. This happened to me plenty. Every other game I have played online both on my PC and Xbox never had a problem. My theory was it was EA's additional bullshit that was causing the problem.

So, for those of you who have played Burnout Revenge online on the Xbox, please post your impressions and if you experienced any connection issues from the game. Thanks!

well you're lucky

9 times out of 10 when I go to the Live part and after I sign in my gamertag, the game freezes. It's pissing me off. I thought it was just me then after reading the Xbox forums, it's a widespread thing.

When I do play online, I haven't had any issues with the server.

Wait, are you talking about the new game? Or Burnout 3 Takedown?

I haven't had any issues playing Burnout Revenge online. No lag no connection issues at all.

But actually I have recently had some issues of Madden freezing when looking at leaderboards.

9 out of 10 times when I try to sign on it freezes up on me. I had other issues of people not appearing in rooms but they are actually there. I created a room got a couple friends in and it would not let me launch the game. I had to sign out again which normally wouldn't be so bad but when you have to reboot 7 times it sucks. I hope they patch this shit, I have one friend who has yet to be able to sign in and play. I play Halo2 with him every other night.

I'll chime in. I got my copy on sale at Fry's Fridau night and have played online severl time with no issues. Lookslike EA has finallyl gotten the hang of how to code for XBL. The game is a blast online. I haven't had to deal with any of the crap I had to deal with with Burnout 3, so grab a copy and enjoy. I think it's still on sale for $37 at Fry's. Best interation of the franchise thus far!!

Yes, I own Burnout 3 and I have had some problems with it now and then. Mostly just disconnecting for some reason.

Off topic, well, kinda: Have you guys been playing Burnout Revenge, and you're racing and you get slammed into the wall, and fall through the track? Then you're just stuck below the track forever. It sucks. It happened once on the demo to me, but then I thought, "Ah, this is a demo, they'll fix it." and I guess they still didn't.

Well I don't have any problems with BO: Revenge IF I can get online with it. I tried 20 times(yes I counted) to play online and it just locks up. I changed the EA Trax, settings. even played a couple races offline before and still freezes.

I bought BO 3(Platinum Hits version) last month and I didn't run into any problems.

I've been playing BO3 on Live for a long time with no problems. It was only screwed up for the first few weeks. We play on the Italy 'server'. :)

I have had some odd occurances with the ft tracking during the gameplay. Mostly on the White Mountain track one or two people will always be going backwards on the ft away meter, yet when they catch up or pass me they are clearly marked "6th" or "5th" even if they are 1st. I have had a race where 4 of the people had that happen to them and I was marked 1st the entire race even when I was 4th or 5th. Not really a game ending bug, but it is nice to have accurate ft numbers instead of 2 people having -37,000 feet half way into the race and they are right behind me.

I had Xbox Live problems with Burnout 3, but none yet on Burnout Revenge. I have not had any of the lockup problems that others have reported. I've really been focusing on finishing the single-player game, though.

90% of my online games have gone flawlessly. I've seen a couple of scoring bugs (during race, but the final scoreboard was accurate), and had a couple of disconnects that could have been no fault of Criterion.

I'm having issues with Revenge... go into a room, hit start to go ready, and the host says the game still says waiting for players.. eventually it will time out, and say I can't connect and disconnects the room.. I had the same issues with part 3... but I can still connect to most games.

Revenge is much better than B3 online. Voice actually works, very few disconnect (I haven't had one yet) and seems more stable overall.

Couple minor things. As someone mentioned, positions can get screwy - I had someone crash twice towards the start of the race and literally respawn right in front of me (they were listed as 2800 ft back). :( People have also complained about crashing into vehicles that they should be able to check... hasn't happened to me though.

I wouldn't let B3's craptastic online stop you from getting Revenge. It's much improved.

It's good to see that I'm not the only person that this stuff has happened to. I brought it up in the official thread and felt like I was going nuts, as nobody else had claimed to have experienced it. Both of those things can happen quite frequently, and can really screw up the experience.

Just chiming in with my results. I bought the game last night. It was flawless! I am really impressed. Thank you EA for not f'ing it up!!! :D

Yeah, I saw this last night. It's a minor annoyance though compared to disconnects.

Couple of disconnections and lock-ups but it's very stable online. Considering how much I've played it (3-4 hours every night since I got it last Friday) I'd say it's pretty impressive. It's certainly not perfect but it's a big improvement over Burnout 3's Live problems
