But I kinda wanted Larian to do some Baldur’s Gate 3 DLC…

I was thoroughly satisfied with the base game. The mods to add many 5e spells, races and classes have kept the game fresh for me.

I wouldn't scoff at a dlc either though.

I love BG3. GOTG easy.

I just wish they would have put out some DLC expansion or something. The engine and mechanics are such a perfect representation of D&D.

I want more!
It would be nice, but it's not needed and I doubt we'll be getting anymore BG from them. It sounds like the don't want to deal with WOTC.

With that said, I literally can't wait to see what they're working on next. It's pretty much an instant buy for me.

Yeah, I hear ya OP. But, there is so much already there, playing through as a different class, making different choices, a lot of hours of replay value to be had.

I held off doing some side stuff in TOTK expecting DLC that never came. it's annoying when good games don't get built off of, especially when they've sold well.

I just started playing around with the mods this week, now that they're available for console. Some of them are almost like having a few small DLCs dropped for free (new classes, tons of new sorceries etc). Way more than I anticipated when I heard mod support would come to consoles. It's gonna be interesting if more are getting released over time or this first batch is pretty much all there will be, but I was genuinely surprised at seeing so many.

No. The game is enormous as it is. I’m tired of the next game from devs getting delayed because they’re get bogged down in DLC. If you want more from Larian, and who doesn’t, let them move on to the next thing.

I want the next BG3, not 8-10 more hours of BG3.

Is there one for unlocking more character levels?
That was my biggest gripe with the game. I was maxxed out in Act 2.

I would like a higher level cap with a corresponding story that accounts for the god-like power at high levels. IIRC BG2 had an expansion like this.

Yeah I had a similar experience, act 3 was pretty much a cakewalk compared to 1.
Yeah, they added a 13-20 level mod, double xp mod and a "start at lvl 12"-mod. Using some of the mods and you can pretty much create a NG+ of sorts.

Edit: Also all of the mods I've used except the ironically somewhat unnecessary free respec/hirelings mod worked with an existing save from act 1 so I assume one could always go back to saves from later acts and just keep doing available quests/exploring

I would have loved some substantial BG3 DLC or BG4 in same manner as BG1 to BG2 happened. But it’s not in the cards due to WOTC/Hasbro shenanigans unfortunately.

Thankfully mod tools are good so we should see more and more interesting mods coming out.

Honestly there is so much content in that game I'm glad they didn't. It was already so long I don't want some DLC added to it just increasing the time.

Let Larian do a new Ultima.
I am pretty sure they will just go on with their own game...DivinityOS (just way more majestic than the first two ;))

Maybe another studio is willing to deal with Hasbro. Would be nice to see what Owlcat could do with it for example. But than again....depends what kind of silly conditions Hasbro is asking for, when they even pissed off Larian, after they delivered a masterpiece.

Same, would throw stupid amounts of money at them for more content but sadly they are moving on from BG/DnD. It is what it is.

Whatever their next game is then I’ll be buying it. If it’s early access, which it likely will be, then I’ll still be there day 1.

I’d LOVE if they did a cyberpunk crpg for their next title.

As much as I like Cyberpunk 2077 i want a game that adapts the TTRPG much more closely. Many people say BG3 is as close to playing DnD as you can get without actually playing the TTRPG. So having Larian do the same with Cyberpunk would be insane.

Make it isometric/topdown, party based, lots of classes/races, full control of your characters build/abilities, dice rolls, way more choices and freedom. Basically what BG3 is but cyberpunk.

I don’t know if CDPR own the rights to the Cyberpunk name when it comes video games.

Of course CDPR don’t own the cyberpunk genre so Larian can obviously make their own games but it just won’t use the Cyberpunk lore.

That’s just me though. Again, whatever their next game is then I’ll support them.

I don’t think Owlcat wants to deal with them either. I would personally much prefer another Pathfinder game from them in the future if at all possible, but I think that’s not on the list for their needs couple of games.

Hasbro does have a few companies licensing D&D so we will see more games , but they won’t be nearly as good.

Edit: I would LOVE a Shadowrun game from Larian or Owlcat, but MS owns the license :(.

I love the first 2 DOS games, and i was a backer from the first game since when they announced it. It can't be denied how DOS is a homage to Ultima 7, from the gameplay downright to the first level/first main quest, but one thing that bothers me in the series is the tone.
If Larian works on another "universe" they can nail that part too.

Let Vincke realize his dream to deal with the Ultima universe, he already expressed that in an interview, i think, and EA simply don't care about the franchise.

It's a win win situation.

Naahh, its good as is. I look forward to their next title and hope its a different genre. Id like to see a dark fantasy 3d fighter from either larian or From, but im well aware its a pipe dream lol.

If you want a godlike-power crpg.....i can only recommend "Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous". I was becoming a Lich there...ruler of the undead! Good luck killing me! :messenger_tears_of_joy: It was awesome!

Okay, didnt know that. Sounds good to me as well. :) Honestly....I dont care what Larian is doing next. They are on a run and I trust Vincke is doing the right thing....it can only be good whatever it is.

Part of what made Baldur's Gate 3 so remarkable is because the team was very passionate about making it. But after release it was clear that they were losing interest and wanted to do something else. You don't want them making any more content if there heart isn't in it.

I understand it blows, but this way we might eventually get a new game that's just as special as BG3 was. So I say let em cook.

Hasbro is a woke landfill ruled by trash people.

Nah, it wouldn't have worked with the current 5e, you're already max level half-way into the game which sucked ass and making a DLC outside of the base game would have been even worse.

Larian should go back to its early 2000's roots and remake Divine Divinity.
We need more competition in the hack & slash action RPG genre.

I mean there's literally hundreds of hours of content I refuse to believe you did it all lol

An ARPG with Larian writing and attention to detail would be amazing. I am also down for another Divinty OS tho. I think i like DOS2 combat more than BG3 combat.
