So we decided that we can't tell people when someone is selling something for higher than it's available somewhere else? I know we had the discussion, but I'm not sure where we landed on it.
You can inform people there are cheaper prices elsewhere, but you can't whine about sellers' overpricing their items. If you have pricing issues with a seller's items, PM them directly instead.I apologize but I thought this was a place to help each other :|

I believe that the discussion you're referring to concluded with most people agreeing that civil PM's to the seller are the appropriate means of discussing pricing concerns; HOWEVER, despite the conclusion of said discussion, the rules remain what they are, which is why I referred Kolma to the particular one that applied to his action.
Wait I'm confused what's the point of said discussion on what the rules are if you can just take it back to "I don't want your input, heres rule 3"
I apologize but I thought this was a place to help each other :|
Because listing the rule is an easy alternative when compared to taking notice of a fuck up and trying not to knowingly rip people off.
Positive Seller feedback for Bungie who sold me a mac mini for a great price.

I wasn't trying to break or enforce any rules and I certainly wasn't whining.
I was just looking out for fellow buyers. This doesn't need to be a huge as It is getting.
I'm sorry I said anything.

If someone is egregiously trying to rip people off, I'm not going to keep it private. This thread is for sellers AND buyers. They have a right to know without people being shouted down time and time again by some dude reposting that rule. If someone loses a sale because of an informed consumer, I am not going to feel bad about that at all.
Rule 3 cannot and should not be used for exploitive people to hide behind.
Or you guys can clutter the thread with this, which was why the rule was instituted in the first place. It's easy enough to suggest better, cheaper alternatives and let the thread proceed as it will without the whining. Again, inform people of better prices. That can be done without the whining.I disagree with this. If the sale is over and the product is longer attainable at this price then I feel it is okay-ish.
A PM to the offending party does nothing for the community.

Yeah, I don't know what you're disagreeing with -- your post seems perfectly fine (and welcome) and is perfectly in line with what Geneijin said. I'm pretty new here, but my understanding of the rules is that you shouldn't be publicly calling anyone out over their pricing, however distasteful you may find it, but that there's nothing wrong with posting an FYI that something is available cheaper elsewhere either addressed to the seller if you think they may be unaware or else just addressed to no-one in particular as a PSA.

I'm suppose to PM whoever is selling above cost despite them knowing what they are doing.
As abhorrent as it is may be to you and others about overcharging or profiteering, it's unnecessary to berate people about it publicly. When you and others do so, it derails the thread because other people may join in on the public shaming and it further clutters the thread like so. If you wanted to admonish the misconduct or wrongdoing by the seller, you could simply inform potential buyers where they can purchase something at a better price with your assistance instead of what we're doing now and lambasting a seller for a number of posts. That way the thread doesn't derail. And if more and more people quoted and linked to a cheaper sale, it would have the same effect without the derailment. Did Kolma at least do that? It would have been much easier than derailing the thread right now because we need to clarify this rule yet again.Discussing policy and informing people that they might get took by an exploitive person is neither clutter nor whining. If you disagree, take your own advice and stop talking about it.
You're gonna have to clarify your original statement to me then because it sounded like you're okay with berating someone for overpricing an item after that sales price can't be had anymore. That unnecessarily derails a thread too. If you want to suggest to people when and where they can find future sales for that particular item, go ahead but no need to jeer.Any disagreement = Whining
Noted.
Yes. However distasteful as it may be, there's no need for this open contempt. All it does is derail the thread. If people want it to be okay, remove the community rule then.Yeah, I don't know what you're disagreeing with -- your post seems perfectly fine (and welcome) and is perfectly in line with what Geneijin said. Whether you want to send a PM or not is your business, you're just not supposed to publicly post your complaints. That doesn't in any way prevent you from posting a PSA (that doesn't mention the seller you have a problem with) as a service to the community. The rule is fine as it is.
