Since I live basically over the hills from the CA desert and have the most minimum light pollution you can get in a populated area, I'm going to use some of my Christmas money to pick up a new telescope tomorrow (it'll also help in school as I'm taking Astronomy next year).

Does anyone have any recommendations at the sub-$250 level for a decent telescope?
