Was convinced it would be Vietnam, but if Trey is doing a SOCOM/Tier 1 thing, I'm interested either way. I just pray that it's better than the godawful mess that MW2 turned into.

So the Spec Ops mode from MW2 but its own game maybe? Could be pretty cool as long as it has the 4 player co-op and some good variety in levels.

Treyarch is (was? :( ) superior to IW in online functionality in every way. You can expect 4 player co-op goodness just like World at War.

I did enjoy the co-op for WaW, so if they follow that path then I am interested. I actually enjoyed the Spec Ops in MW2 way more than the SP. :lol

First thing I want to know about this game: Will I be forced to buy the DLC (will the game be broken if I don't buy it) like I was in World at War?
 
I read somewhere that Treyarch didn't like the changes made in MW2 and they're going back to COD4/WaW style gameplay. I:E no shotguns or machine pistols for secondary weapons, no akimbo, and no commando.

I can't remember where it was posted though.

I really wanted it to be a collection of conflicts from the Cold War. From the sounds of the rumors and the descriptions that's exactly it.

You know when I compare MW2 and WaW I actually prefer WaW so I'm looking forward to this. And no this isn't a MW2 bashing post as people love to point out, I merely think WaW is a slightly better all-round game than MW2 apart from the fucking dogs!

Don't like the subtitle though, seems a bit... unimaginative.
 
The sad thing is that despite the Treyarch hate, this sounds like the most interesting Call of Duty since the first one.
 
Another Call of Duty? When did MW2 come out?

Edit: Jesus it came out last November, has there ever been CoD games released each year?

What? There's been a mainline CoD game or expansion every single year since 2003.

CoD - 2003
CoD:UO - 2004
CoD2 - 2005
CoD3 - 2006
CoD4:MW - 2007
CoD5:WaW - 2008
CoD:MW2 - 2009

We're not even including last gen console exclusive or portable versions here even.
 
Treyarch guys, you have half a year to make it happen - the Veteran mode better not be a cheating bastard like CoD3 or WaW, or this time I'll come and cock-punch you for reals!
 
Take out--

--melee lunge
--One Man Army
--grenade launchers
--Commando
--the overabundance of killstreaks
--Last Stand
--deathstreaks
--shotguns/machine pistols as secondaries

Introduce--

--Longer delay between melee attacks
--a better spawning system (LOL)
--gold paint
--dedicated servers
--tiered killstreak system
--more recoil for guns, especially assault rifles, to make them more difficult to use

Yeah, because Modern Warfare and World at War were such interesting names. I think CoD's MO when it comes to subtitles is, "does what it says on the tin". Can't expect them to pull a flowery pretentious name out the bag now, that ain't how they roll.
 
this must be the treyarch one right?

why are people bitching about mw2 when you could be bitching about treyarch? i think thats by far the best indicator that its going to suck, especially considering they probably started working on it before mw2 was even released.

Considering there was a year window between WaW and MW2, why the hell wouldn't they? :lol
 
i look forward to getting this, completing the single player and never touching the multiplayer. pretty much my standard call of duty affair. i think i played two hours of mw1's multiplayer. but i love the campaigns for all of the games so far.
