I have this *friend* who really wants to try Bittorent out cause he's heard so many good things about it. But he really doesn't know how the things works, or where to go to find stuff that he is looking for. Can anyone here possibly give me some info about it?

Not that complicated.

Just based off using it I can tell you:

The file originates from an original seeder
All users communicate to a tracker which manages connections
people both upload and download
upload only/finished users = seeders
rest = leechers

Though some of you didn't have to be so crass about it. I mean, you guys seem to have no problem entertaining people who ask for girlie advice here, I'd have though asking about torrent would have been lightweight in comparison.

I feel ya mayne. Lighten up people.

But on the same token, using a torrent is cut and dry, unlike dealing with chicks. Feel me? So yeah, google it. :lol
