Can dropping your iPod make it sound weird?

I accidentally dropped my iPod. Not from great height or on a real hard surface or anything. In fact, it's fine on the surface. But the sound is weird. It just seems "off". Not the same as it was.

In all honesty, I don't know if something like that can damage the iPod in terms of sound quality. You'd think it'd just stop working altogether.

I've dropped mine numerous times and it has never effected the sound.

I suppose dropping it probably could screw up the sound, though. But like I said, I've dropped mine at least 10 times from heights as high as 4 feet onto cement and it still plays fine.

Maybe something's wrong with the headphone input, something mechanical like a contact not touching properly.
