I haven't been keeping up with FFXI news/info in the last year, but I do know a lot of people that have quit, never to return. These range from the nubs that never got beyond lv.25 ( like me
), to some that got as high as the mid 60's and just got worn out.
With WoW steamrolling, is FFXI still drawing players to Vanadiel?
On top of that, as we all know by now, FFXI will be making it's way to X360 sometime next year (spring?)... but will it even matter any more? Will those of you getting a X360 (not the retard pack) and have never played FFXI take the plunge and try it? With those that have played it reinvest for a more souped up version?
I tend to wonder if the release of FFXI on 360 is a latch ditch effort for Square to make a profit before they completely retool the game and make a FFXI-2 (possibly for PS3?) Then again, FFXI might still have a very strong community for all I know and the 360 version will simply be another way to further expand that.
What do you guys, particularly those of you currently playing FFXI, think? How many of you getting a 360 in the next year plan to get FFXI?
