I have an older Dell computer, and I want to use the Windowx XP cd-key that it came with on my new computer since I'm reformatting today into tomorrow :(

Just curious if Microsoft will get wise and crack down on me or something... I don't want to not be able to update my Windows XP because I share it with my other computer.

So, is this shit legal or what?

even if you have to call, just say you recently formatted your computer and they will give you a number.

Well the computer I'm currently running right now has Windows XP Pro... but when my friend built this computer for me, he used what he called a "Liscensed Windows XP Pro" or something, I really can't remember since it was last year.

All I know is that I can't get in touch with him to get another Windows XP Pro cd/key, and I need to reformat ASAP. This coolwebsearch trojan has gone on for way too long.

But thanks for the help boys, I guess I can reformat now.
