Lakitu, the rev remote can transform into a regular controller with shells, as far as I know.Lakitu said:No. I like Sony's direction and I like Nintendo's direction for innovation with the controller, keep one seperate from the other.
It ain't the same thing, mang.Razoric said::lol :lol right...
Anyway I think PS3 will be fine with it's Eyetoy 2 that's pretty much doing the same thing in certain areas (ie tracking movement).

This industry has lost its way.Miburou said:No, they can't, because they actually want 3rd party games on their system.

SantaCruZer said:for starters, eyetoy2 is not the standard controller.

No, really. Go.

For once, I disagree. Well, at least, it will be a while before Sony copies it. Maybe they will only copy the movement sensor thing, but not the whole remote idea. I think the remote idea is just pure genious to get non-gamers playing games. Seriously.Deku said:All the PS3 fanboy "it's retarded and Sony won't copy it" comments aside, I honestly think that Sony will copy it. Judging from the reactions from the non entrenched fans so far and Drinky's prolific posts as well as my own judgement, I think Nintendo has found something truly 'revolutionary' that no one has really thought of that is also very functional.
The simplest example I can think off the fundemantally different ways people could be swinging a sword in a Revoltion and PS3/Xbox360. And it also opens up the home consoles for heavily mouse dependent games that have never worked well on with a traditionally controller. Strategy games comes to mind, and I'd love to wave that controller around like Tom Cruise in Minority report to point at options, planets, and units in a hypothetical space 4x game.

Please no. I really don't want to play swinging my arms in the air. I'm too lazy, and a comfortable joypad with only my fingers and thumbs moving is all I need to play...HCgamer said:The boomerang shaped PS3 thing they showed at E3 was only a prototype now that they have seen the Revolution controller what is stopping them from saying hey we like the Revolution controller let's rip off Nintendo's idea?

seriously, go back to Nintendojo or whatever Nintendo hole you crawled out of. :lol
Riiiight. :lolAndrew2 said:Why does Sony need to copy when they already have something place. Also, looking from the way it functions, it looks like Nintendo copied Sony, but in their own way.

I'm not too excited about that idea... Now, if it was a hentai dating game with a nice 'minigame', HELL YEAH!!!! GO NINTENDO!!!!AndreasNystrom said:Just imagine porngames with this "stick" technology. Im pretty sure we guys will rock at them!![]()
MutFox said:Didn't Kaplan say in an interview not long ago that the tech has been patented to prevent copying?
If so, will they start suing if companies use gyro Tech in their controllers without paying royalties to Nintendo?
I know Nintendo NEVER sue when companies make products using Nintendo patents.
Will that change?

Because frankly, who needs threads with actual content when we can speculate to our heart's content.HCgamer said:The boomerang shaped PS3 thing they showed at E3 was only a prototype now that they have seen the Revolution controller what is stopping them from saying hey we like the Revolution controller let's rip off Nintendo's idea?
