I absolutely adore Itagaki's art and over the fucking top story telling.

My favourite part is when Biscuit tells Baki he has to keep his muscled on a leash or else it would crush everyone in his vicinity. The smug face on Biscuit and Baki's "fuck that shit" face was truly priceless.
The little I read of Dogesen also has me interested in his Seinen published titles.

Question: Anyone read Kizuzura*? Or seen the anime? Only seen it quickly at a book off but Sukiyomi or CDJ would make it rather cheap to import. If I can't find it here that is.

Lol, yeah I recall this. I think Biscuit said his muscles would fill an entire city lol. I really enjoyed that prison arc, thought it was tons of fun.

Is he really though? Doesn't weak ass Motobe step up and save everyone? Like no one now in this day is used to weapons so even though he gets his ass kicked by the Hanma clan only he can fight MM?

The Miyamoto Musashi arc is fun by the way.

That being said, I've recently begun to resent Itagaki's storytelling - he overuses the 'passerby #231 age: 21' trope. He must have seen it somewhere, fell in love with it and now shoves it in anywhere. This isnt a documentary.

But that still pales in comparison to his ultimate trope - spending half the chapter explaining why a punch 'tastes delicious'

Absolutely insane how he developed the mach punch. It was a punch that gathered strength by flowing through the joints in the body and by envisioning more joints in his body he was able to produce a motion for the strike that was exponentially stronger than normal with each joint he envisioned it passing through. The exercise trained his body to relax and tense his muscles in a cascading effect to create a tidal wave crash of force and blood through his arm into a strike that could surpass the speed of sound.

He broke every limb trying to take out Pickle and the final strike was one where he combined it with a whip technique of relaxing your limbs to swing them like a whip. This was originally used for slapping strikes so hard that they could burst the human skin and muscle upon impact. Combining the mach punch with the whip led to the devastating results seen above.

Still watching this show. The triangle between Baki, his mom, and his dad is totally bizarre. Baki went to Brazil and met some dude named Dickson, who is very obviously based on Rickson Gracie.
