I know this is an old thread an' all but since I can't make my own yet, I'd like to add another game to the entries.
This game is known as the first open world, 3D FSRPG, inspiring how The Elder Scrolls I+II+Battlespire played. It's a game called
Legends of Valour for the Amiga and PC (1992). To further highlight some great points about this game, lemme quote Wikipedia:
I've actually had this game for years, the original big box release too, but only recently got around playing it. I didn't beat this game, and tbh it does feel quite outdated for me, but this gem is nonetheless of less importance of how significant it was back in '92.
Yeah... clunky interface, simplified graphics and character stats, not exactly the greatest looking and playing either, but it's still remarkable at the kinds of things this game did for its time and I found myself temporarily enjoying it until the outdated feel became too much to burden.
