digital is ideal if its like how gog handles it. the key cards are bad since you cant own them. selling would be dumb since you will lose more money in the end, you will be better off renting it in the first place. lending isnt a good idea, who knows what the person does with it, people can be nasty. I would never lend anyone anything.
I don't sell my games, just saying you can. GKC games are ok for me because I play a lot of games in the field with no internet, and they don't need authorization to play, unlike regular digital games do.
Someone should test Ratchet and Clank rift apart.
On a modern SSD the installation takes like 10 minutes even for 100 gigabyte games. So that's why nobody is bothered.Higher density doesn't slow down seek times (it does increase read-speeds, but that's obvious).
It's not a question of choice. You as in - user - don't perform any process/install. The moment you insert the disc the install starts automatically, the last time manual steps to install existed was the XBox 360.
Now - early on, a bunch of PS4 games did streaming installs that allowed to play the game within minute or so of inserting the disc (so it was pretty similar to old style experience of playing direct from disc), but that's something that was largely abandoned later in the generation and no longer really exists in PS5 era.
I guess data showed that people were 'ok' with waiting for the installs
