Is it possible to set up Thunderbird with your Hotmail account or will Hotmail only work with Outlook/Outlook Express? Anyone know?

Hotmail only works with outlook/outlook express sadly.

I've recently switched to gmail accounts to be able to use thunderbird.

It only downloads the emails, you can't reply using your hotmail account, you need to reply though your ISP smtp server. It's bullocks.

Look for something called FreePOPs. It's a free/shareware proggy that runs in the background and lets you get Hotmail, Yahoo and other webmail sites in Tbird. I use it and have no problems with it. Haven't had to look at it once since installing it. I don't think there's any setup or configuration involved. PEACE.
