There was a great piece in The New Yorker recently about climate monitoring, and the changing value of land due to climate change. There's a lot of Canadian land that was once "frozen wasteland" most of the year that will see a rise in value as its growing season expands. The North Pole is probably oil and mineral related though. As it warms, it will be easier to extract them.
Yes. I'm surprised this is even in question. Canada does regular sovereignty patrols to the far north to keep an eye on things. They've been doing this since forever.
As a Canadian not sure if I'm for this. Baird and the current government don't care about environment and would probably do whatever it takes to tap into those reserves.
Isn't alberta enough, jeeze. As it stands canada could make norway look poor in the long run(provided it's not held by like 5 oligarchs). *pets his citizenship*
I wonder if studying in the states and moving back to canada will someday become a thing, i'll be liek a pion33r.
But one piece of advice for the government...if this goes down to a decision by judges this time don't give the competing judge one more judge and do not trust the British to use their vote to support us.
Our Government has already claimed Santa Claus.
The entire North Pole was the next logical step.
"We are honoured that Santa begins his annual journey in Canada, Minister Kenney stated. "And, as a Canadian citizen living in Canadas North, he may re-enter the country freely at the end of his international trip."
