I've confirmed that this is neither a problem with my TV (checked on two different HDTVs), or component cables. So it's either the game, or my Xbox.

Basically, Panzer Dragoon Orta looks all fucked up in 480p.



It sounds like it might be similar to this problem with Fable, but launching the game from the Dashboard in 480p doesn't help (I don't have Fable, so I can't confirm if I have the same problem with that game, too).

Google search didn't seem to help, so does anyone else have this problem? My Xbox is a 1.6, if that matters.

Is your xbox modded? I remember having the same problem with other dashboards but EvolutionX would play it just fine.

Speaking of which, how do you run your games in pro. scan ? I've got all the stuff one needs but I just dunno what I'm supposed to do. GC games ask you if you wanna run it in progressive scan, PS2 games often have it as an option to select but I've no clue about xbox games.

Just set the dashboard to enable 480P and it's automatic. FYI: You also need component cables.

aeqtgfqerbvaeq my xbox was set to PAL and I didnt have any choice, I've set it to NTSC and I could choose 480/720p and 1080i. Thanks for the hint.

I know different Xbox models have different video encoders. Perhaps late-model ones have t his problem? Oh well, I was really looking forward to PDO in 480p.

I can confirm that Panzer Dragoon Orta does not work at 480p on my xbox (Jan 2005 manf. date)

I had this problem with Fable. AFter I set the Xbox dashboard's display to 480p (Go into the dashboard's visual settings, then press the 2 shoulder buttons and the analog buttons simaltaneously for the switch to occur) the game's fired up perfectly. Sucks that Panzer won't work for ya
