Who's doing the porting? Please god not APE... Arcade perfect ports of Final Fight and Forgotten Worlds totally seal the deal for me, even at full price. I'd prefer the NES version of Bionic Commando to the arcade one, though.

All well, N tends to get the shaft for these sorts of collections because of disk space anyway, so no surprise.

But I think I'll pick this one up, to play the arcade version of Bionic Commando (never have before, I know it's different from the NES version) and some others I've missed over the years.

Capcom Classics Collection > Namco's Collection

Hopefully, Cap will give us the definitive version of Final Fight with a remix soundtrack (cause the original arcade version was terrible), co-op play, and Poison uncensored!

Yes! I've been itching to play Bionic Commando again. It's a shame that it's the arcade version but oh well. The whole collection sounds great either way.

Slam masters hasn't aged well at all.

Use that game spot for something good like Warriors of Fate.

Quiz and Dragons? :D

Capcom owns Pnickie's don't they?

Black Tiger/Dragon, and throw in Street Fighter 1 in all it's suckiness just for nostalgia, since pretty much no one outside those with emulators have played an arcade perfect version of the original.

Anyone who's toyed with the ROMs know what kind of sizes we're talking about here? It seems like the ones listed so far wouldn't average over 60 MB apiece.

I guess they figured things like VJ and MMAC didn't sell enough better than their PS2 counterparts.

Knowing how hard-core this forum is, I'd be surprised if a lot of you guys didn't have these games on your Xbox already. What would purchasing them get you? Legality?

I'm not thowing down on anyone, I'm just surprised that so many of you don't have modded boxes or are still interested in purchasing this.

Maybe the 898 people who viewed this thread but didn't reply have a modded Xbox with these old classics emulated on it, have already read the thread, snickered, and moved to a new thread ? ;p

Another thought on the apparent nonexistance of a GCN version. This seems the perfect type of game to have late on GCN. If a compilation is popular its sales can drag on for ages, and it could continue selling to the Revolution crowd. Not like these games require 512 MB RAM or 720p.

I don't get it.

MMAC GC outsold the PS2 version.
MAT1 and 2 sold well enough on the GC to get Midway to keep publishing MAT games on it.

Is there any LOGICAL reason for them to nix a GC port of this?

I hope they don't "soften" the resolution on this. While I like Street Fighter Anniversary and Mega Man collection, I want to see the games exactly as they were in the arcades. I play Street Fighter Collection 2 on the PS1 more than anything since it seems to be the most faithful (despite the load times).

But, I'm just glad Capcom is doing this. YAY!

It's already "soft" on Forgotten Worlds. That screen is plainly scaled up and then squished horizontally to fit CPS1's aspect ratio into 4:3. The other screens look nice and crisp, but Forgotten Worlds' appearance is a bad sign. I don't think there's any chance the collection will have the games running at their native resolutions.

also Megaman X collection + Sonic gem collection this year for GC

GC owns!
So lets see... Sonic, Megaman X, Capcom... Castlevania collection anyone? that would be the only other thing I can think of.

Konami wasn't going to do a Dracula collection; remember that PS1 remake of the X68000 game that came out here and nobody bought? That was supposed to be the start of a series.

Anyway.

Why in the world are they wasting everyone's time by putting 3 SF2s on here. What is the point. Is there anyone on this planet who wants to own SF2 on a console now and hasn't had a chance to do so in the previous decade? There's nearly 100 other Capcom arcade games which have fucked up or nonexistant home ports and yet they're still putting 3 SF2s on this collection. Worthless.
