Capcom Classics Collection for PS2 & Xbox!

Why is Strider not on there(or was that Konami)?

I need to play that game and my NES and cart are acting like some punk bitches.

Why in the world are they wasting everyone's time by putting 3 SF2s on here. What is the point.

Because Atomic Planet is resuing as much of Capcom Generations PSOne as they can most likely. This appears to be the five Capcom Generations compiled onto one disc with a few extra games like Bionic Commando and Final Fight thrown in.

Well I guess that confirms it. It's the Capcom Generations games with a couple more games added squished into a pack. Would it have killed them to add some more? Maybe Captain Commando? Magic Sword? Knights of the Round?

Still, I always wanted the Generation titles over here, so i'm still picking it up.

Konami wasn't going to do a Dracula collection; remember that PS1 remake of the X68000 game that came out here and nobody bought? That was supposed to be the start of a series.

Anyway.

Why in the world are they wasting everyone's time by putting 3 SF2s on here. What is the point. Is there anyone on this planet who wants to own SF2 on a console now and hasn't had a chance to do so in the previous decade? There's nearly 100 other Capcom arcade games which have fucked up or nonexistant home ports and yet they're still putting 3 SF2s on this collection. Worthless.

because unless you have emulators running on PS2 and Xbox, you cannot play World Warrior, Champion Edition or Turbo, properly that is. and no, Hyper SF2 / SFAC does not cut it.

If its Japanese made, its quite obvious the Japanese and US Capcom divisions just do not cooperate at all.

Probably the reasons why their instruction manuals always look like shit.

This is the first developer collection that's ever enticed me (well, Midway Arcade Treasures does a bit, but I've never caved). If it comes out for GameCube at ~$30... sales +1.

NEED GAMECUBE VERSION!

I was going to get the X-Box version, but then i heard the 360 BC thing.

Other than that, i'm sure Nintendo will hav a better dpad next gen.

No Black Tiger or Magic Sword. :(

Just mod your Xbox, go and get ALL the CPS1 and CPS2 games emulated, and these types of compliations will become meaningless.

I know, I know, they can milk their franchises and make multiple collections containing a limited number of games, but I'm tired of this crap....half the time they can't even get the games properly emulated, yet guys doing the same thing for MAME and other emulators don't have any problem.

Capcom and any other company with older games could easily fit their entire library from a period of time onto one disc perfectly emulated, but they don't. That's why I'm glad there is an alternative in modding.

Anyway, I'd rather see some obscure games in this collection. Put in Red Earth/Warzard like Mox suggested. How about Battle Circuit and Armored Warriors? Cyberbots never saw a U.S. release...put that in there too!

Actually, I'm just going to buy the PCBs of Black Tiger and Magic Sword. I have a supergun and those two boards are not particularly expensive. If emulation of the two satisfied me, I'd stick with MAME on my PC.

I was into buying arcade boards for a short while some years back (bought a CPS3 with SF3 2nd impact, this was before 3rd Strike was announced, a Neo MVS, and some other old games), but emulation of older games is absolutely perfect now, so I just stick with it on my PC and XBox. It's also nice to not have to worry about something happening to the arcade boards which lack any kind of protective case (at least the ones I had did). I kept thinking the CPS3, with the CD-ROM and hanging off it, would break at any minute! :)

Eh.....I already have all five volumes of the Capcom Generations line for Saturn. Looks like I'll be picking up this collection just for Final Fight, Forgotten Worlds, and Bionic Commando. That's ok...I guess. :\

Mercs! Woohoo!

I wish they'd add the Megadrive Version as well as the Arcade. The original mode was pretty damn good.

awesome collection. I would buy that shit for FInal Fight, Street Figher and GnG alone, the rest (MERCS!!!) is just icing on the cake. I hope they keep the difficulty a little lower in Street Fighter 2, CE, and Turbo though. SF Anniversary Collection is great for 2player, but playing alone makes me feel so fucking weaksauce. :(

Ninja, HSF2T in SFAC has SSF2T's AI, which is why it's so tough. The SF games on this collection will have the much more managable AI we remember from those games.

There's going to be a Gamecube version.....if you believe IGN.

So will MegaMan X Collection be coming to Xbox then eventually too? And more importantly, will any of the collections (SF, MM, MMX, Classics) be coming to PSP?

Yeah, I was thinking pretty much the same thing. And I just got Capcom Gen. 4 (Mercs, Commando, Gun.Smoke) just last month off Ebay too. *Sigh* Be interesting to compare the ports at least--I wonder if they'll offer TATE mode in the new collection, or if the SNES Super G&G will still be cropped on the edges.

Anyway, none of that matters since the 2 biggest reasons to buy this collection are included:

UGH Atomic Planet is doing this

all I can say is UGH

probably get it on PS2 unless a GC version comes out but I wont buy it till I can buy it cheap AND USED

As fucked up as AP is, the games I've played have been arcade perfect. Yay for Capcom including Forgotten Worlds. Boo to them for not including Black Tiger.

Can someone at E3 find this info out? Last year Gamespot pulled the same thing with SFAC and Capcom Fighting evolution...listing PS2 as only platform when everyone else was saying PS2/Xbox.

Ask if Capcom Classics and Megaman X are coming to all 3 platforms as IGN is listing them. Also Possible PSP port info would be cool as well.

...maybe info on Darkstalkers chronical seeing a US release too.

I'll ask about Darkstalkers coming to the US

Capcom Collections is not being shown on GC. (retarded decision, but meh) That I can confirm. I haven't seen any pods playing MM X collection, so I don't know.

ebgames has this shit listed at $49.99. That better be a placeholder price. I ain't paying more than $30.

If all the games are arcade perfect and they add a boatload of extra content it would be worth it.

Awsome! :)

I love all these compilations coming together on xbox and ps2. Especially with all the new gamers that have yet to experience these games. Plus I hate having to keep around old systems just to play them.

I dunno...that is a lot of quality games. :)

Actually, is it CONFIRMED that the Street Fighter games are included on this compilation? That does seem a bit redundant, considering they just released SF: Anniversary Collection less than a year ago.

SFAC has remixed music, no bonus rounds and the disc only has the Super backgrounds.

forget about getting the sega cd remixes for the final fight tunes. the game was done by SEGA not capcom. unless sega gives them the tunes to use it aint gonna happen. tsc tsc.

I can live with that. I'd rather have 'arcade perfection' than a Sega CD port anyway.

I had no interest in buying this compliation for PS2 or Xbox, but if it comes out for GC I'll have to pick it up. Plus this means Game Cube FINALLY gets Street Fighter!! :lol

Actually you can use the music from the CPS1, CPS2, or 3D0 (arranged) versions of SF2. Capcom even went and redid the four new challengers' BGMs in CPS1 style if you pick that setting. :)

I never understood the compaints over the Super backgrounds; they're the same thing as the CPS1 stages, just redrawn to look better. But I suppose if you want the whole arcade feel replicated...

Yes, it's confirmed. The list of games is taken from titles that were shown in the trailer for the collection. And it's not surprising that they're reusing those ports along with the rest of the games that were ported in the Capcom Generations series.

Awesome.

Were the Capcom Generations ports of SF2/SF2 Turbo arcade perfect or at least close to it?

Modded Xbox won't get me arcade perfect Final Fight with the Sega CD remixes...

Neogenesis emulates Sega CD pretty much perfectly. So you can at least play the Sega CD version. But you're NEVER going to see the arcade version of Final Fight with the Sega CD soundtrack on any of these compilations.
